Anzac Day 2011

25th April..........yesterday to us!

Alan and I proudly wore medals for: My grandfather, father and uncle, and his father--and marched with the diggers at our local Anzac parade.

THE ODE:

They shall grow not old,

As we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them,

Nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning

We will remember them

LEST WE FORGET

Annie, I am just getting back on the forum, wasn't on for ANZAC day. Wanted to post this link from a blog I follow. I think you will enjoy seeing how some of our military feel about the ANZACs. http://www.blackfive.net/main/2011/04/the-anzac-day-tradition-lest-we-forget.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Blackfive+%28BLACKFIVE%29.

So, belatedly, on behalf of my great-uncle who was a veteran of WWI, my father and uncles who were WWII vets, my oldest brother who is a Vietnam vet, and myself and three of my sons who are Iraq/Afghanistan vets, thanks to all of you Aussies for your support in our endeavors.
