Uturn Posted April 21, 2011 #1 Posted April 21, 2011 JakeWilson.com had a price increase on all tires. Today, I ordered Avon Venoms and paid $12 per tire more than when I looked earlier. Saving Grace, Avon has a $25 per tire rebate to 15 May 2011. Attached is the Rebate Form. MIKE aka Uturn
MiCarl Posted April 21, 2011 #2 Posted April 21, 2011 A couple weeks ago I asked the distributor I deal with when tire prices were going to go up. He told me that they were already seeing increases from the manufacturers and as new inventory came in their prices would also rise. He told me that one of the manufacturers increased prices twice in one week. Between high oil and devalued money we're going to get really creamed on them.
treeman Posted April 21, 2011 #3 Posted April 21, 2011 They raise the price, but they will sell you 2, 3, 4, year old tires at the price of @011. No way i refuse mine untill i got new ones. or the price of the 08,09,10. i just put new ones on last ones had Side wall cracking.
Eddie Posted April 22, 2011 #4 Posted April 22, 2011 just got a new front tire from these guys yesterday. 141.00 shipped. Took a week to get it.
pick Posted April 22, 2011 #5 Posted April 22, 2011 SWmototire, $142.50 for rear Venom, 150/90/HB15 Free shipping gotta say, quite impressed with the Venoms. Got 18k on them and just to the wear bars now! Front has plenty on it, just replacing the rear. I went through two sets of 404's and neither got more than 8k. See no reason to switch to another brand!!!!!!!!!!!!!
aharbi Posted April 23, 2011 #6 Posted April 23, 2011 Just put an Avon Venom 150/90 HB15 on today. Paid $136 and $25 to mount/balance on the bike. Replaced my ME880 with 11,158 miles down to the wear bars. Thought I'd try the Avons this time around. Always ran ME880's, never had a problem (not wanting to open up any tire debates here, just sayin) I run two up 50% of the time and not afraid to enjoy riding the twisties. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/aharbi/Motorcycle/RearTireVentureME880.jpg
Scooter Bob Posted April 23, 2011 #8 Posted April 23, 2011 Just ordered a set from Jake Wilson. I usually use Dennis kirk, but I thought i'd give these guys a shot. The two tires and rear pads cost $300.97, free shipping. Dennis Kirk was $317, and they have a $5 each handling charge for the tire boxes, so I saved $27 total. Then I'll send in the rebate and use the $50 to buy the fuel to put the first 500 miles on them. I clicked on the Banner at the top of the site to get to JW, I think i read that VR gets some kind of cudos for that. Later, Scooter Bob
