Freebird Posted April 19, 2011 #2 Posted April 19, 2011 Very interesting. I wonder if they will be able to bring the price down.
Carbon_One Posted April 19, 2011 #3 Posted April 19, 2011 Very interesting. I wonder if they will be able to bring the price down. Don't hold your breath Don I do like em but sure can't justify their prices. Larry
bj66 Posted April 20, 2011 #4 Posted April 20, 2011 I havent read any info on it yet, but I'll bet Victory uses this as their bridge to the old school v-twin guy. The vics have arlen ness written all over them. Now they have the old school tie in. As far as price goes, that will be the line that goes way back with tradition, and tradition comes with a price. I think they will still be right up there if not more than a HD. Thats who they are aiming for anyway. If they cheapen the bikes price significantly, people will say they are taking shortcuts.
Freebird Posted April 20, 2011 #5 Posted April 20, 2011 Oh...they ARE more than HD. At least the standard HDs. I think the price I saw on the new Indian was somewhere around $35,000.00. I expect somebody to revive Henderson again one of these days.
Freebird Posted April 20, 2011 #6 Posted April 20, 2011 Here you go, I did find some price information. Some are a little less that I thought but still hefty enough. http://www.motorcycle.com/specs/indian.html
Guest scarylarry Posted April 20, 2011 #7 Posted April 20, 2011 Maybe it is me, but if the bike doesn't have a faring and stereo, I'm not interested. Rode the strip models to many years and don't plan to return to that style...
bj66 Posted April 20, 2011 #8 Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) Oh...they ARE more than HD. At least the standard HDs. I think the price I saw on the new Indian was somewhere around $35,000.00. I expect somebody to revive Henderson again one of these days. Yah I hear ya on that, I was meaning that if they tried to bring the price down to at or below HD. They have room to bring em down some. But if you start dropping them down to the low 20's or lower, dont know if it will work. Its gonna be a fine line for them thats for sure. People will start thinking, if they drop the price that far, it would be like putting Geo parts in a Caddy and calling it a Caddy. Plus a high end Screaming Eagle CVO HD Ultra must be in the 30's. I think that is the niche they will go after. It will be like the old saying "If ya have to ask how much, ya cant afford it" type thing. But I think the other thing they may do is add a model or 2 to bridge the gap between the premier high end bikes and the Cross Country. IF they do that, they'll have something. bj66 Posted April 20, 2011 #9 Posted April 20, 2011 something besides the Vision "space ship" that is. And I would expect it to come from the Victory side of things. Id expect the Indians to pretty much stay the way they are. They dont dare stray to far from the heritage.

hunter 1500 Posted April 20, 2011 #11 Posted April 20, 2011 My guess is we will see a Victory power plant and drive with a Indian frame. GE also just invested in Polaris heavily so they have the capital.
Chinto Posted April 20, 2011 #12 Posted April 20, 2011 I would hope that Polaris will update the Indian design at least on some models. I for one don't really like the sail Indian calls a fender. I think part of the problem with Indian's failure to resurrect is people are tired of the same old look on every model.
elmicko Posted April 20, 2011 #13 Posted April 20, 2011 I like the old school look of the Indians, even that big ol' front fender. To me it just say's "American Classic". I'll never be able to afford one, but I would love to see a full dress Indian tourer.
