GigaWhiskey Posted November 25, 2007 #1 Posted November 25, 2007 Hey Y'all, I might be blind and my site searches are not working to well. I could have sworn that I saw posts on fixing a ribbon cable behind the console that gets messed up over time. I am doing the speedometer lube stuff (pulled the whole thing out and tore it down to the speedometer, I should have read the instructions better) as mine was squealing louder than the radio (iPod and Radio volume combined) this Friday (whew, was it cold that day). Since i was here already, i figured i would check it out. Can someone help me out on this? PS. JT, I am still here!
GigaWhiskey Posted November 26, 2007 Author #2 Posted November 26, 2007 No need, thanks anyway, I put it back together already.
hipshot Posted November 26, 2007 #3 Posted November 26, 2007 BOY!!! now that was COLD!!! i was just getting ready to bundle up and go outside, to check on this "ribbon cable" thing, for ya! NOT! good to see you haven't froze to death, up there! now that you have "broke" the '85, you might as well spend a little time , hanging around here!!!! just jt
GigaWhiskey Posted November 26, 2007 Author #4 Posted November 26, 2007 Yup, will do! I hate seeing her apart for too long. Got itchy and sewed her back up. I still have to finish the battery mod and add the resistor, getting tired of the red light. Also, need to do the gas gauge fix in the tank. Still haven't decided on what to do with the bum thing. Looking at the gel pads in the seat, I just have to drum up enough nerve to cut the foam in the seat to make them fit. I got squids light brackets and still have not put them on yet. Still need to find lights that I actually like and that are 35w like I read, from posts, everyone recommend. Talk at ya later!
mraf Posted November 26, 2007 #5 Posted November 26, 2007 Good luck with the search for 35w running lights. I looked for quite a while and never did find any that I liked the looks of. So I just bought some 55w ones that I liked and put in 35w bulbs. I believe they were H-3 bulbs. You can find 35w H-3 bulbs on the web at some electrical sites that are not very expensive.

I got my 35 watters on ebay but just the bulbs.
