Snaggletooth Posted April 18, 2011 #1 Posted April 18, 2011 Been at the drawing board again. There always seems to be one more lil improvement that can be done. This lil creation takes care of two, maybe three things that I wanted to take care of. So not much fun in just saying what it so I'll just post a few pics and let ya guess. It's in raw condition now waiting for the epoxy to dry and will be ready for the final sanding and a few coats of paint and clear coat over the next couple of days. When it's done and mounted I'll post the finshed project. So have at it. Mike
Reddog170 Posted April 18, 2011 #2 Posted April 18, 2011 Hmm takes care of a couple things for you. GPS and XFM holder?
dingy Posted April 18, 2011 #3 Posted April 18, 2011 Heck with what it is, no doubt a needed gizmo. How did you heat the acrylic to get the sharp bend? Gary
Snaggletooth Posted April 18, 2011 Author #6 Posted April 18, 2011 How did you heat the acrylic to get the sharp bend? Gary Hi Gary, Pretty simply. Clamped it in a vice protected by strips of wood and heated it with a heat gun at the bend area until it went soft. Then pressed it to the angle I needed with a block of wood. Had to get it up to about 325 degrees to make it that sharp. Then spray water on the smoldering wood strips.
mini-muffin Posted April 18, 2011 #7 Posted April 18, 2011 Shoe horn? Ok maybe not. I'd go with the gps, xm and phone mount. Ya said a few things which would be more then 2. Of course most phones now have gps in them and you can play music through them. Margaret
a1bummer Posted April 18, 2011 #8 Posted April 18, 2011 Is it to stop the wedgies? Which in itself would take care of a few things. No more getting caught by all those surveillance cameras picking out said wedgie, keep your grundies cleaner longer so you can get a couple more days out of them, thus helping the environment by not using up as much hot water. Bill
