Did you ever start a small project and end up deeper than you had any intention?

I knew my front tire was a little worn and had a lot of cracks in it too, so thought I would replace the Elite 2 with a new one, now how hard can that be? I took the wheel off and had a friend change the tire. He left it out in the rain after changing it and got a lot of water in the bearings. Well guess with 40k on the bike it might be a good idea to replace the bearings. Talked to Buckeye to order the parts and mentioned that I was going to check the starter since I had a small leak in the radiator hose also and it would be a good time to look at the starter. The bike starts slow after it is hot. He suggested that the real fix was a 4 brush starter. Ok one more thing what the heck. While disconnecting the battery to remove the starter found a broken fuse clip so guess I will change over to new type fuses. ALL I REALY WANTED TO DO WAS CHANGE MY TIRE!!!!

As long as your're in there...........

Have you done the heavier gauge battey cables?

And then how's your starter engage clutch?

And have you upgraded to a higher output stator?

And do you have the Progressive springs in yet?

And how's your R/R holding up?

And a good time to change the thermostat!!

Fork seals?

Brake pads?

Head light upgrade?

Ahh dang! He's going to throw stuff at me!! :buttkick:

Once it gets rolling..........:smile5:

YA... WHAT'S WITH THESE DANGED THINGS ANYWAY!!!

In about 1981 I bought a '73 Buick Century 4 door plain jane car for $600. It had a dented in left rear 1/4 panel so I fixed that and painted it. Drove that thing everywhere for 7 years and tons of miles and never put a dime into it except for oil and tires. Sold it for $100.

Bikes just aren't like cars! Now why is that?
