Eddie Posted April 15, 2011 #1 Posted April 15, 2011 You know I've probably dropped 4 nuts putting my seat back on and I think Ive only found two. Where have you guys seen them go? I just ordered 6 more. I tried the nylon ones but like the length of the stock nuts. Makes it easier to install.
wes0778 Posted April 15, 2011 #2 Posted April 15, 2011 Why bother??? Haven't had them on my bike since the 2nd time I had to pull the seat. In fact one of the studs is missing too...
Flyinfool Posted April 15, 2011 #3 Posted April 15, 2011 OUCH! Your not supposed to drop your nuts..... Doesn't the big nut go ON the seat?
BigBoyinMS Posted April 15, 2011 #4 Posted April 15, 2011 All small parts that are dropped when working on a Yamaha fall into the same place on the bike. Problem is that no one has found that place yet.
Marcarl Posted April 15, 2011 #5 Posted April 15, 2011 Have you looked on the floor??? if you have, I guess that's not the right place to look,,, better spend your time looking elsewhere.
Yeah, Just Dale Posted April 15, 2011 #6 Posted April 15, 2011 You know I've probably dropped 4 nuts putting my seat back on and I think Ive only found two. Where have you guys seen them go? ediddy Posted April 15, 2011 #7 Posted April 15, 2011 I feel your pain. I ordered the seat nuts from Rick Butler one fell off while I was trying to put it on. I searched everywhere and never found it. It didn't make it to the floor but it can't be found.
Mike G in SC Posted April 15, 2011 #8 Posted April 15, 2011 I get my son-in-law to pick up the bike and shake it. Big guy. Get Rick Butler's thumb-screw nuts, on the member vendor page. They are much easier to hold on to when you are taking them on or off. But,,,, buy 3 incase you drop one!!!!! Mike G in SC
calperin Posted April 15, 2011 #9 Posted April 15, 2011 Have you looked on the floor??? if you have, I guess that's not the right place to look,,, better spend your time looking elsewhere. Eddie is too tall to see what is on the floor!!!:rotf::rotf:
Sailor Posted April 15, 2011 #10 Posted April 15, 2011 In a distant land, far, far away, in a different time and space there are seat nuts, valve stem covers, battery connectors etc falling from the sky. This confuses the natives as they have no idea what they are. They call them " Airfutzfallensplat" which translates as " Cr*p that falls from the sky".

Reddog170 Posted April 15, 2011 #14 Posted April 15, 2011 I dropped the washer that goes on my rear brake resivor. I can see it, no idea how to get it though. I think it is laughing at me.
flb_78 Posted April 15, 2011 #15 Posted April 15, 2011 Why bother??? Haven't had them on my bike since the 2nd time I had to pull the seat. In fact one of the studs is missing too... I used to do that until I found my seat halfway across a parking lot on a windy day. Now I keep my nuts close and tight.
BIG TOM Posted April 16, 2011 #16 Posted April 16, 2011 I dropped the washer that goes on my rear brake resivor. I can see it, no idea how to get it though. I think it is laughing at me. There is supposed to be a washer there.....?
friesman Posted April 16, 2011 #17 Posted April 16, 2011 :rotf: Are ya a bit bored over there Kerry (to come up with that)?? Nope not bored, but I am betting the crop in Kerry's backyard is ready for harvesting though..... Brian
Eck Posted April 16, 2011 #18 Posted April 16, 2011 You could just slip a 2 to 3 inch piece of rubber hose over the seat studs after the seat is in place and continue to ride on.. You could also install a flat washeer first then the rubber hose if you wish.. (I didnt).. Want to remove the seat..just pull down on the rubber hose and turn at same time.. ..wha la..
Sailor Posted April 16, 2011 #19 Posted April 16, 2011 "Keep your friends close but your nuts closer"
Mariner Fan Posted April 16, 2011 #20 Posted April 16, 2011 I've lost both my nuts. Never hit the floor so they are somewhere in the bike I guess.....
