SilvrT Posted September 18, 2011 #133 Posted September 18, 2011 Welcome to the club Rick. I've 16,000 miles on mine since March and I think I'm getting comfortable on it. Dennis Thanks Dennis! The first "mod" I will be doing is to get a back rest. I put one on my RSMV this past summer. Was the first time I'd ever had one and the difference in the comfort level was night and day ... ... and now the "modding" starts! LOL
Tom Posted September 18, 2011 #134 Posted September 18, 2011 It looks like someone took good care of it....VERY CLEAN! After yo get it fitted to you I think you will love it..I know I made the right decision..

SilvrT Posted September 18, 2011 #136 Posted September 18, 2011 like stated once before the Valkyrie Interstate is the Corvette while the Gold Wing is the Cadillac Well, I was about to buy a 2001 Valk Interstate. It was in Regina, SK (appx 2-3 day ride from here) but the guy had another interested party ahead of me who decided to buy it. I would have loved to have had that bike but I think I will really like the one I got. Here's a pic of the Valk (only 61,000 Km's and origial owner)

LOVE the trike!! 08 Comfort/Nav:mustache: Miss the Chrome, but not the "topheaviness" The GW Trikes are pretty AWESOME machines...Even being triked a friend of mine still tears up another brand VERY Bad ina roll on throttle race..I know they arent for racing but he is a little crazy.
bull463 Posted November 30, 2011 #139 Posted November 30, 2011 Just bought one. She was dirty but ran fine now in the garage getting clean and some new safety chrome. Should be a nice ride to MD this year. Bull463

jilldwr Posted November 30, 2011 #141 Posted November 30, 2011 I've also got a Wing, though it's a 1975 first year wing and a lot smaller than the newer ones. Still a blast to ride though!
Yammer Dan Posted November 30, 2011 #142 Posted November 30, 2011 jilldwr I beat one of those on the drag strip at the Charity News meet in 75 might have been 76 with a 650 Yammer. I wonder if that boy ever learned to ride that thing...
jilldwr Posted November 30, 2011 #143 Posted November 30, 2011 I got beat in Sept by a 1984 Yamaha 650 Turbocharged seka, though it was just by a length. Damn, those turbos are fast! Cheap on insurance too!
Yammer Dan Posted November 30, 2011 #144 Posted November 30, 2011 Mine wasn't a Turbo and by the time this boy figured out which direction he was going in I'm glad the finish line was there!!
motorcycle_1300 Posted November 30, 2011 #145 Posted November 30, 2011 I have a 2004 goldwing but ride it a lot less than my midnight venture, or my FJR, I do ride it more than my 92 royale, but that is a work in progress. so I guess that makes me something like 42.25 or so Al
Walküre Posted January 16, 2012 #146 Posted January 16, 2012 I ride a 2000 Valkyrie Standard, that's slowly turning into a Tourer clone. I have owned 7 or 8 Goldwings over the years, mostly 1000's, but an 1100 and a couple 1200's. The Valkyrie is my "current" favorite, but as I have always owned cycles of some sort, that's always subject to change. I have a friend with a Royal Star, and I have to admit, I like it. Not enough to "jump ship", but who knows... Roger http://crbest.com/valkyrie/winter/done02.jpg
Pegasus1300 Posted January 16, 2012 #147 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) Well after 2 wrecks this year I jumped ship too.I found a good buy on a trike so I replaced the 08 RSV with a 1990 Wing SE and a 06 TriKing conversion.I don't know what number I am.Still have the 87 anniversary VR. bull463 Posted January 17, 2012 #148 Posted January 17, 2012 Ok guys time for a update. I have spent lots of time cleaning and replacing chrome. I still have to paint the tour pack it had some things painted on it that I did not like. I know I have to post pics but I want to get it all done before all of you see it. So far the wife loves it I spend lots of time in the garage and out of her hair. Bull 463

KevinR Posted March 19, 2012 #150 Posted March 19, 2012 Started out my riding days with a beautiful '86 Wing but as anyone who's ever had one knows, they're death on the stators so after replacing one and having that die in a year I became a RSV rider. Venture is much more comfortable for the really long rides although you certainly feel the extra weight in the handling. Still have the Wing though, just ordered an alternator conversion kit so I'll have a backup for when the Venture needs work, or just a change of rides
