1rooster Posted April 7, 2011 Author #3 Posted April 7, 2011 tape player power cord inside the fairing came unplugged and the handset doesnt see it anymore. I thought of that BUT,when I press eject the tape player has an audible beep.Could that still be the problem?
eusa1 Posted April 7, 2011 #4 Posted April 7, 2011 You may have a loose connection, or you may have to disconnect the battery to reset your options??
V7Goose Posted April 7, 2011 #5 Posted April 7, 2011 Well, everyone has been whining so much that they wish Yamaha would take this no-cost feature away, so I guess they did it. Too bad you were someone who wanted it! Goose

bongobobny Posted April 7, 2011 #7 Posted April 7, 2011 Yah! Split the fairing, follow the wires to the connector for the tape player, and reseat, clean, dielectric grease and trey again...

AKRefugee Posted April 7, 2011 #10 Posted April 7, 2011 Wow, You mean to say those things actually work :rotf:
MAINEAC Posted April 7, 2011 #11 Posted April 7, 2011 Mine ate a Bad Company tape back in 05 when i bought it... I think it's still in there... LOL
Reddog170 Posted April 7, 2011 #12 Posted April 7, 2011 Mine will run the tape but no audio. Bites too, I got a bunch of tapes. Shaun
BradT Posted April 8, 2011 #13 Posted April 8, 2011 I only put a tape in the player once just to see if it worked and it got stuck, but it did work. Squidley knows how to bang the dash just right and it popped right out. Just like hitting the side of the TV many years ago. Brad
Rick Haywood Posted April 8, 2011 #14 Posted April 8, 2011 We Have A Tape Deck? Is it an 8 track or maybe a reel to reel..........
ashley9187 Posted April 9, 2011 #15 Posted April 9, 2011 First time I tried my tape player it got stuck and had to take it to the dealer to have it removed. Never used since. Rick A.
