RandyR Posted April 4, 2011 #1 Posted April 4, 2011 again. just had the same last week. This one looks even uglier than last week. The big radar map shows it stretching from New Orleans to Pittsburg. I raced the front edge of it home an hour ago and got hit with a few drops of rain and some wind gusts. Looks like all H is going to break out from the weather map. probably thats whats happening from Huntsville to Nashville right now. Got the bikes under the carport and a blanket thrown over the car.
Cougar Posted April 4, 2011 #2 Posted April 4, 2011 Yep we had that last night was a real blast shee:cool:sh
GAWildKat Posted April 4, 2011 #3 Posted April 4, 2011 Hoping the worst passes us....not in the mood to deal with the hail and the cars on the driveway...good luck Randy
Mariner Fan Posted April 4, 2011 #4 Posted April 4, 2011 I thought you were talking about Indiana! We are getting the same thing over here.
Sylvester Posted April 5, 2011 #5 Posted April 5, 2011 Hit us last night around midnight. It is really hard to sleep with my wife and five large dogs in the same bed. The dogs were really freaking out over all the lightning and huge thunder.
Eck Posted April 5, 2011 #6 Posted April 5, 2011 Cover your butt there Randy... Hope all is ok after it passes...
RandyR Posted April 5, 2011 Author #7 Posted April 5, 2011 (edited) Cover your butt there Randy... Hope all is ok after it passes... Tornado warning about 10:30 last night. My two dogs went bananas when the siren went off. I decided to head for a workshop with its own walls down in the basement. Trying to convince the dogs to go to the basement was interesting. Lost power shortly thereafter and I just stayed down there for about 45 minutes with a battery LED light. The storm front passed quickly and left no local damage that I could perceive, in fact the hail didn't happen either as far as I could tell. So, despite the severity of the forecast, it wasn't as bad of a storm, or have the duration of the one a week ago. The power came back on sometime in the middle of the night. edit... I just saw the news. I guess I was just lucky. Several people were killed nearby and quite a bit of destruction in Georgia from the storm. Edited April 5, 2011 by RandyR
SteveW Posted April 5, 2011 #8 Posted April 5, 2011 Glad you made it with no problems Randy. We got caught in it on I-75 by Tifton Ga. around 3:30 this morning on the way back from the Kids house in Marco Island Fl. Had to get off the super slab and find an open parking lot away from the trees. Glad we were in the cage.
