dunsonaventure Posted April 2, 2011 #1 Posted April 2, 2011 Hi everybody, Just installed my new custom radiator cover by one of our own fine meber venders,[steve Wagner]. If you dont have one of these on your RSV, you have to check it out. Best money I have spent to date on making my 99 look better. Always hated that bare old radiator look. This custom fab fiberglass paintrd to match is awsome. Installs in seconds and looks super expensive.

Cougar Posted April 2, 2011 #4 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) I like the fact that his grills fill that BUTT UGLY VOID on the front of the bike. MINE BEFORE AND AFTER A little Selling for Steve http://www.wagnercustomproducts.com/cust1.html Edited April 2, 2011 by Cougar
bongobobny Posted April 2, 2011 #5 Posted April 2, 2011 Yah! The Mongo mod is really nice!! There are a few other aftermarket grilles as well but Steve's looks like a super deluxe version. The other ones, such as I have, add chrome and improve the looks, but doesn't look as dignified...
Steve S Posted April 2, 2011 #6 Posted April 2, 2011 Is Steve Wagner still an active member in here?? If so, what is his screen name?????

coop Posted December 11, 2013 #11 Posted December 11, 2013 Is this guy still around? I'd like to buy one of these. Coop
Kirby Posted December 12, 2013 #12 Posted December 12, 2013 Sorry, Steve passed away a few months ago.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted December 12, 2013 #13 Posted December 12, 2013 Sorry to hear Steve is no longer with us. Is there any of these or other rad covers out there still? I would love anything other than the bug screen that is currently on my 02.
bongobobny Posted December 12, 2013 #14 Posted December 12, 2013 Myself I'm hoping to score one of these used...
Gary N. Posted December 12, 2013 #16 Posted December 12, 2013 Before Steve died he offered the Grill business up for sale on here but I don't know if anyone picked it up. I've had two of his Grills and have been more than pleased with them. Yamaha should have put those on in the first place because they look like they belong on the bike.
Bert2006 Posted December 12, 2013 #17 Posted December 12, 2013 Probably gone for good now that the 2nd Gen is history. Too bad, would have been nice to see the Wagner legacy continue.
Condor Posted December 12, 2013 #18 Posted December 12, 2013 Probably gone for good now that the 2nd Gen is history. Too bad, would have been nice to see the Wagner legacy continue. There's still a ton of 2ndGens out there without the Wagner Grills, so I don't think the market will be depleted anytime soon.. I bet someone could buy the rights and start a nice little side line business. I'd do it, but I'm just getting too .././..
Phoneman1981 Posted December 12, 2013 #19 Posted December 12, 2013 I agree with Gary N. The Wagner grill looks like it belongs. I think of Steve everytime I look at my grill. When Steve listed his grill business for sale, I was interested enough to call and inquire. We talked a couple of times about it. The timing was just not good for me at that time. I too was hoping the grill could live on.
Bert2006 Posted December 12, 2013 #20 Posted December 12, 2013 With over 1000 views on this thread already it may be a good indication that there is high level of interest. Dont know how to do it, but maybee if a poll was set up to see who (how many) would be interested in purchasing one, that may convince someone to take the jump and re-start the business? Just a thought. For me' I would get one if I could find one...but would be expecting the same level of quality as to when M. Wagner was producing them.

I'm wondering how to get in touch with his family to approach them on what it would take to resurrect the grill business. I live fairly close to them and would love to keep the Grill alive in Steve's memory. But, I don't think I could swing it alone. Is there anyone reading that might consider a working partnership.
Gary N. Posted December 13, 2013 #22 Posted December 13, 2013 As I recall Steve wanted about $10K for the business including instructions but that was before we knew the 2nd Gen was discontinued I believe. Hard to say how many existing bike owners out there might be interested in one now at $200 each.
starrider60 Posted December 17, 2013 #24 Posted December 17, 2013 I'M ABOUT TO TAKE DELIVERY OF ANOTHER RSV & I WOULD DEARLY LOVE TO HAVE ONE OF THESE QUALITY GRILLS ON IT. WILL SEEM INCOMPLETE WITHOUT ONE. IF SOMEONE WITH MORE AMBITION & ENERGY THAN ME TAKES UP THE TORCH, LET ME KNOW. I'M READY TO BUY.
