OK I know its been discussed butI cant find specifics. When my taxes come in my wife has gave me permision to get a gps.Limit is in the $300 range. What will be a good gps in this range with bluetooth and mp3 player with an exterior speaker output. I will be getting in touch with buddyrich for a cable hook up that he makes for the 1st gens. This gps will be mostly for the bike but also will pull double duty in the cage when needed.

Any ideas will be apreciated.

Thanks in advance

IMHO.....GARMIN.....They stand behind every GPS they produce and you'll go far to beat their customer service.

Boomer....who sez even the pygmies can't pooch up his Garmin.

I have a tomtom and kinda like it but even after doing updates and updating the maps some of my routs, according to my gps, still go strait through a cornfield.

Garmin!

Spring the extra $200 for a Zumo.

Failing that, buy a 1490T for $132 on Amazon, and carry a few baggies for the occasional times that it rains.

I got my Garmin 1490T on ebay. It is a refurbished unit. $200. It came with the same warranty that a new one from one of the big box stores came with. No it's not a Zumo, but it works just fine.

if you're only getting a $300 refund - you need to get some more deductions :rotfl:

motorcycles don't count, just more dependents :bang head:

well you could always send me your social security Number.............hehehehehehhe

seriously though I did have more than that just only aloted myself that much as I have found a few in this price range and no more than I would use it I dont see putting more tham $300 into it till I see how I like it. That and I know buddy rich makes a cable for the 1st gens but havent heard the verdict on how peaple like it and if all the things I want will work. My goal is to be able to use the mp3 player on the gps with the capabilty of answering my phone when needed. My moms health is not the best and not being able to know when she calls bothers me. I find myself constantly checking my phone at highway speeds. Not really safe.all this would preferably be able to be used through the bikes intercom system. If that want workthen Ill probably not even buyu a gps. Wright now Im in research fase.

Tahnks for the pointers though
