CrazyHorse Posted October 3, 2006 #1 Posted October 3, 2006 Just curious what kind of Hg readings people get with the carbtune on 1st Gen bikes. I rebuilt my carbs new all new diaphrams all jets cleaned out (Had a idle problem had to keep bike on full choke to idle the tiny purge jets were clogged) I can idle with no choke now but I if I give it throttle it dies. Not very high readings on the carbtune almost non-existant except for #2 any ideas? Gonna try colortune first I guess.
Marcarl Posted October 3, 2006 #2 Posted October 3, 2006 Question: how does it respond if you give it some choke? does it rev up then?
Stoutman Posted October 3, 2006 #3 Posted October 3, 2006 I read about 11 when I'm idleing with the Morgan carbtune II.
Yammer Dan Posted October 3, 2006 #4 Posted October 3, 2006 Thats what the bike I'm working on does. It will idle fine but if I try to rev it it dies and I have a he** of a time restarting it.
BuddyRich Posted October 3, 2006 #5 Posted October 3, 2006 Close up the airbox with the filter in it guys. The first gens don't like the box being open.
CrazyHorse Posted October 3, 2006 Author #6 Posted October 3, 2006 Yea I got the airbox closed. I wonder though I noticed the carbs are really out of sync after the rebuild engine running crappy I noticed it like backfiring through the carbs and actually blowing the carbs out of thier boots. Im wondering if I dont have enough seal around the airbox at the carbs and enough seal at the carbs to the boots. I'm gonna check this out wondering if I'm getting to much air in. I also have this tube that vcomes off the breather tube below the carbs that I dont know where it connects too. Any ides on that?
