StuD Posted March 29, 2011 #2 Posted March 29, 2011 Idle should be 950-1000 The adjuster screw is star shaped, left side of carb bank, between #1&2carbs :canada:
Venturous Randy Posted March 29, 2011 #3 Posted March 29, 2011 Idle should be 950-1000 The adjuster screw is star shaped, left side of carb bank, between #1&2carbs :canada: I usually keep my idle around 700 rpm's even though everyone says that is too low. You will probably need a carb sync also. RandyA

RandyA You just like the way it sounds at that speed don't you.... I like the idle sound a bit lower too, it has a nicer rumble Brian
GaryZ Posted March 29, 2011 #5 Posted March 29, 2011 The idle adjuster is hard to see and reach. It is located between the #1 and #2 carbs. It is horizontally oriented. It is about the size of a dime with raised bumps around the edge. Turning it clockwise increases idle speed (looking at it from underneath). The adjuster gets hot when the engine is at operating temperature. I use a flat-bladed screw driver to make changes when on the road.
skydoc_17 Posted March 29, 2011 #6 Posted March 29, 2011 The Idle is 950 to 1050 RPMS. I have attached a pic of the adjustment screw. Earl
Yammer Dan Posted March 29, 2011 #7 Posted March 29, 2011 Like some of the others I keep mine a little lower than called for. I think the book says 900. When syncing the carbs I turn it up to about 900 seems to be easier to get them balanced then drop it down a little after I'm done with that.
beachbumtroy Posted March 29, 2011 Author #8 Posted March 29, 2011 wow guys thnx for all the responses and info i will take it all to heart and adjust in the am thnx
