What V7Goose said about the rear, down to metal in 10k-12k on factory pads is right on. Since then I have been using EBC pads, not sure the grade, but they cost about $30, and I just put a new set on every time I change the rear tire (about 16k) and they always have some meat on them, but not much.

I too, must be a heavier than some user of the back brakes. I still have the original Yammy pads up front, with almost 81,000 on them now. For that kind of life, I think I will pay whatever Momma Yamma wants for another set. :mo money:

Ya, they've been out a couple times to grease up the back sides for the squeal issue, but that's it.

Just my :2cents: , Scooter Bob

As long as this thread just showed up again, and since I just took delivery yesterday of a new set of Avon sneakers and the usual set of rear pads, here's what I've been running on the back, they last a little more than the life of the tire, and I just change them every time I mount a new one.

Here are the rears that I said I was going to post and had forgotten about...

That's about what my rear pads looked like with 27k miles on them. I put on a set of the HH's last week and wow what a difference in stopping power. To me the HH's have alot more grab to them, or maybe its just because they're new.

I normally swap the pads from inside to outside and visa versa to even out the wear. Get a few more miles that way and wear them both out. :)

I have made it a practice to swap rear inside for outside at the start of every riding season. In Februray of this year I replaced thr rears with 36000+ on them. There wasn't much left and they wouldn't have gone another 1000 mi.Unfortunately I wrecked that bike a month later and it is gone.I use the EBC HH.

Yup, that's what I use too.

For what it is worth, my rears wear evenly as one may or may not be able to see from the picture.
