OB-1 Posted March 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 27, 2011 Does anyone use some sort of manuel cruise control (non electronic)? Do you mean a throttle lock? Not since I got my 2nd Gen in 06. I've used them in the past and think they're invaluable on a non-cruise control equipped bike.
mlew Posted March 27, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 27, 2011 Got one on each of my bikes, its nice to give your hand a break once in a while.
flb_78 Posted March 27, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 27, 2011 I had a Clever Lever on my Roadstar, but it's not a cruise control, just a throttle lock that needed constant adjusting.
Jazzmann320 Posted March 27, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 27, 2011 I used one on my Valkyrie... it worked great as a throttle lock. The one I preferred was the one by Breakaway.. it is deactivated by the brake lever or manually.... http://www.brakeawayproducts.com/:080402gudl_prv:
CaptainJoe Posted March 27, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 27, 2011 I also use the brakeaway on my 650 V-star midnight custom... Excellent product... ZERO problems! Had to as I have carpel tunnel in my right wrist(throttle hand).
Snaggletooth Posted March 27, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 27, 2011 Since my cruise control can get a bit iffy at times I installed a throttle lock on mine and added a Throttle Rocker to. I have some wear and tear in my wrists and it's nice to be able to let up on the grip for a while.
muaymendez1 Posted March 27, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 27, 2011 Since my cruise control can get a bit iffy at times I installed a throttle lock on mine and added a Throttle Rocker to. I have some wear and tear in my wrists and it's nice to be able to let up on the grip for a while. I just purchased the throttle rocker to aleviate some numbness in my hands due to keeping th efingers in direct path of the wind. Today will be the first tyry at 32 degrees and hwy miles being put on. Im curious why the throttle lock and the rocker. i wanted the TL but i already paid for the rocker. Snaggletooth Posted March 27, 2011 Share #9 Posted March 27, 2011 The TL was pretty much for on the highway. The TR is great for around town. I can relax my grip a bit and rest the pad of my hand on the rocker to control the throttle.
RSTDdog Posted March 27, 2011 Share #10 Posted March 27, 2011 I found it got expensive to pay Manuel to hold the throttle for me plus having to bring him with me everywhere I go. I got an RSTD with the electronic cruise control and now the wife can go with me instead. Sorry, couldn't pass that up..... ddog
etcswjoe Posted March 27, 2011 Share #11 Posted March 27, 2011 I had one on a bike when I was 18 and fell asleep going down the highway and if it had not been for the dang nabit strips on the side of the rode it would have been a bad thing.
