Guest jakescot Posted March 26, 2011 #1 Posted March 26, 2011 Ride a 2007 RSTD. Want to replace the front floorboards with pegs; the purpose is so my heels can drop which will lessen the pinch/strain in my hips. I've been looking and asking, with no success. My current option is to cut off the back of the front floorboards. That will get me the drop I want. It would be nice if there were a different solution. Any suggestions? And no, not new 'forward controls'. Way too expensive, and won't solve the issue. Thanks.
tomfromhull Posted March 31, 2011 #2 Posted March 31, 2011 Sounds like good old fashion fabrication is necessary
Guest jakescot Posted April 1, 2011 #3 Posted April 1, 2011 Thanks for the note. Can't find any help out there...so unless the bike sells in the next couple of weeks ('07 RSTD, 10.6K miles, great shape, asking $7900 OBO), I'll take saw to the floorboards and cut of the backs. Also cut down the rubber foot pads. that will get me close to what I'm looking for. If it doesn't work, a new set of floorboards will cost me about $120/, which is quite a deal. So thanks for the note. Any fab ideas will be appreciated; my plan is to use a fine tooth saw blade to cut the aluminum, then use a Dremel to sand down the edges.
