Dexx Posted November 22, 2007 #1 Posted November 22, 2007 O.K., so I've been trying to make sense of the specs on the GPS units I've been researching and one thing keeps escaping me......how do you guys hear them on the motorcycle? I'll like my gadgets, but I'm sometimes technically challenged. Is there anything out there with just a simple headphone jack?
Guest BluesLover Posted November 22, 2007 #2 Posted November 22, 2007 My GPS (Lowrance iWay 500C) is hard wired to the RSVs audio system - the AUX position. Cheers,
BOO Posted November 22, 2007 #3 Posted November 22, 2007 I just don't worry about it. Can't hear it over the tunes anyway. Jerry
Pilot Posted November 22, 2007 #4 Posted November 22, 2007 Look for a GPS unit that has an audio output jack, 3.5mm. Tie this output into your AUX input on your RSV. Two ways to do this, the simple way is to use your cassette AUX input, the second requires that you split the upper fairing and run a audio cable to the GPS unit and install a Y splitter in the fairing. The second has a more finished look to it. Some people have had problems with seeing the display or overheating issues with the Lowrance, I had both the 250 and 350 Lowrance units and I had seeing issues with both. I now have the Zumo 550 and I'm very happy.
