CLASS Question

Sorry for another one. Picked up an 86 VR and had the issue with the class. I had the board re-soldered and now it illuminates but still is not doing anything. Any ideas on what to do next?

youre aware that it only works when the key is in the acc position?

Yes i am. Found that out after searching on here for 4 hours early this morning

If the pins on the board have been resoldered properly the next weak spot would be the connector plug. Many have found that pressing the plug halves together tighter or moving them around a bit have found that they are getting a better connection or at least an error code on the display that would be the best indicator of the actual problem.

 

Are you only getting the back light or any "E" codes displayed now? It does take a bit for the unit to cycle before it is ready to work. Once you go from the "Acc" position to "On" you must go back to "Off" and then return to "Acc" for it to come on again.

 

Any change in the info displayed on the screen when you press "Auto" or "Manual"?

When you get it figured out let me know. I can get the air pump to come on but nothing more than a backlight on the screen. Shaun

Well, there is always the chance that the unit itself is defective! You can try unconecting the boards and then reseating them, you can also try cleaning up the connector to the display board, the "Zebra conector can be dirty and not actually conecting with the glass display...
