I know Mechanic is about ready to shut down the internet so I quit looking. Just because I found an 08 white with about 7000 miles, sheeez. Not me!!!

The tail lights match the bike and it is basically the same as the LT. However, I do like the looks of the LT better. I'm probably going to ride to Murray KY in the next couple of weeks to have a look at the trailers first-hand before I commit to one. I really like the Trekker trailers but at $4800 with options I think they are a bit overpriced. A color matched Hannigan will be around $3600. Dennis

Midrsv Posted March 21, 2011 Author #30 Posted March 21, 2011 I managed to ride about 90 miles today and man that Wing is different. Every time I started off I would instintively attempt to bring my foot up on the floor board that wasn't there. I desperately need those highway pegs I have on order. With the venture I rarely let the RPMs drop under 2500. On the Wing they rarely go over 2500. Of course I am really trying to adhere to the break-in procedure of no full throttle acceleration in the first 300 miles. But 7/8ths throttle feels real good. Dennis
Rick Butler Posted March 21, 2011 #31 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) No need for appologies Dennis, The GL1800 is a great bike and I almost had one after my last crash and burn on my 02 Midnight. But I decided to give her one last chance and installed my first proportioning valve and that saved her from the scrap yard. However, if you ever get a little uncomfortable on your GL seat (s), I do a bang up job on that seat. It's still one of the best oem seats on the market, but it still needs a little help, depending on the rider. So let me know if I can help, Rick Edited March 21, 2011 by Rick Butler

I did the same thing Dennis..went to put my feet up and nothing there..ha.. That is why I mentioned highway pegs to you...you will love-em once you get them adjusted for your leg length and height. with the venture I rarely let the RPMs drop under 2500. On the Wing they rarely go over 2500. You can just about let it idle and be able to take off... Dennis, One word of caution, from someone who knows...yes, ask me how I know... Do not keep your left foot "toe section", (the front section of your boot), under the shifter when makeing a left turn.. The toe of the boot can (and will) catch the pavement and rip your left foot backwards up under the foot peg and spit it out under the left side bag.. Believe me, it is VERY painful.. I played hell getting my GW stopped and wanted to cry... I was on crutches for four days.. In short: Make darn sure both feet are on the TOP side of both foot pegs when making turns...(right or left turns) or you will learn this same lesson as I did oh to well. I rode my wing for almost a year and a half before this happened to me. I thought I knew my GW well..Its natural that the more you learn your bike the more you lean in curves. As you become more and more confident of your GW, always remember it will bite you if (and when), you forget this warning...
Midrsv Posted March 21, 2011 Author #33 Posted March 21, 2011 Thanks for the reminder Eck. I was thinking about that yesterday as I went around a curve. Just wondered how far one would be able to lean before dragging a toe and realizing there was no floorboard for protection. Dennis
