Guest reggiepelletier Posted November 21, 2007 #1 Posted November 21, 2007 Just got my 2008 BlackCherry RSV last weekend, and WOW what a ride. can't wait for this weekend to get on it again (live in Tampa, Fl) I found the Aux line splitter on the Tech Lib and will attempt that this weekend. As I will have the farring off was hoping to find a power source tied to the ignition to power the XM radio. Is there any available or should I take the seat off and use that one. Ride safe.......
Wayne O Posted November 21, 2007 #2 Posted November 21, 2007 Tied in with the power wire that goes to power port in the fairing when I hooked up my led lights that are inside clear lowers. The power port only works when the key is acc. or run.

Guest reggiepelletier Posted November 21, 2007 #5 Posted November 21, 2007 Cool...thanks for the help folks.....Also As I was pullingh into the gas station the low fuel light came on and the bike took just under 4 gallons, is that normal? At what point would I have to switch to reserve? When there is about 1 gallon left? Thanks
halfwitt Posted November 22, 2007 #6 Posted November 22, 2007 I have about 15 miles after the light kicks on until I need to flip to reserve. Never tested how far I can go on reserve!
V7Goose Posted November 22, 2007 #7 Posted November 22, 2007 Cool...thanks for the help folks.....Also As I was pullingh into the gas station the low fuel light came on and the bike took just under 4 gallons, is that normal? At what point would I have to switch to reserve? When there is about 1 gallon left? Thanks You will find lots of older threads on this subject, but yes, this is very normal. I and many others have found that the manual is wrong - it says you have 1 gal left for reserve, but reality is 1.5 gallons. And the light does come on a bit before you have to switch to reserve. In addition, it is almost impossible to completely fill the tank unless you have vented the filler neck, so you probably had at least 1/2 gallon air left on top after you filled it. Goose BTW - I have pushed my 05 to the limit on reserve many times (taking 5.8 and 5.9 gallons on the fill-up), and 60 miles is my expected range on reserve. Even so, I start getting nervous around 40.

Guest reggiepelletier Posted November 23, 2007 #9 Posted November 23, 2007 Appreciate all the help and suggestions. Completed the Aux split in the cowling and got the XM monted and ran power to the rear of the 12v cig lighter. A little dissapointed with the volume level through the Chatterbox headsets. Weather I am on radio, CB, or Aux I need to turn the volume to 20 before I can hear anything. If I switch it to SP it Blasts through the fron and rear speakers. Is this normal behavior? Thanks for your help.........
Guest longtrain59 Posted November 23, 2007 #10 Posted November 23, 2007 I leave mine on reserve all the time. You never know when you may not be able to pull over when you run out. My '99 gets exactly 58 miles on reverve. Then I'm walking.
