muaymendez1 Posted March 18, 2011 #1 Posted March 18, 2011 I am thinking i am not the only one to dislike the location of the ignition on my 96 rstd. Behind and below the seat. i feel like a contortionist. this is a real treat when everyone is ready to roll. and I have to dismount to find the key hole. Anyone know of a relocation kit or a fix to this.?
BradT Posted March 19, 2011 #2 Posted March 19, 2011 Sorry I don't have a solution or advice, but I hate when the key is dangling out in mid air like that. I like them up top so I can see it when I want to. I am sure you can make an RSV switch work but some splicing will be needed as I think the plugs are different. Most likely will require a mounting plate of some kind fabricated. Good luck, Brad
Iceman Posted March 21, 2011 #3 Posted March 21, 2011 My 98TD was on the left side, close to the top of the radiator,I didn't like it. I relocated it to the right side panel below the drivers seat, I like it there. It matches the seat key lock on the left side panel. I fabed a bracket to locate it there, and extended the wires back to it.
