Risers - Need the rubber piece?

I just installed the 1.5 inch risers...I notice the rubber piece between the handle bars and the faring don't reach that high...so there's no rubber between the bars and the faring...is it necessary? And if so, where would I find some high density rubber like that to make an extension?

No extension needed... you can either turn them upside-down and jam them in on opposite side or do like others and add an adapter.

In my thoughts the fairing rattles too much without the rubber stopper. I put mine in upside down and wedged it in there. I tried it without and didnt like the new sounds it was making.

Go to Autozone (or other parts store), and pick up the RUBBER SPRING STIFFENERS (under $10 for 2 of them) and then use a hack saw to make them the size you need.
