I just got home from TX a couple of hours ago.

It was hotter than sin, never so much as a cloud in the sky, I had go sit in a car with the AC on to avoid heat stroke.

I'm glad to be home.

You folks down south can keep your dry heat, I'd rather have more snow.

Have fun Bob...

Tuesday it is, for leaving out of here, I hope...:confused24:

Update, Tuesday 3-22. I met up with Scooter Bob in El Paso....Illinois! :rotf: midday on his way to Texas and beyond. We had a good talk, and then I rode with Bob to Lincoln IL where we saw a huge storm approaching St. Louis, and I headed back home to stay dry, while Bob, the adventurous sort he is, headed into the jaws of the beast!

Ride safe Bob! Good to see you again this year on another of your winter/spring adventures.

Enjoyed riding with you for a while.

Out of Wisconsin and the cold and sleet and snow. :cool10:

Ya, Karen says theve got all that right now.

It was 33 degrees and raining when I left.:cold::rain2:

By the time I paid my dollar for the priviledge to read the "Welcome to IL" sign :whistling:the rain was mostly done.

Major crosswinds from the East to the next fuel stop in Peru.

Then met up with Dyno Don for a quick lunch for me at El Paso.

Don led the way to Lincoln, with a little putt down some of Route 66, and another stop for a soda and a little more chat.

Don headed North, and I headed to St Louis.

I hit a little more rain around Springfield, and had to stop shortly after for fuel. I must have been running straight into the wind for a while now, because I got the low fuel light at only 140 miles.

Right on DynoDon! :thumbsup2: That trip around the bottom of the big city wasn't all that bad. Only puckered up my @$$hole a couple times (did I mention I hate big city traffic).:bang head:

I've got a room for the night in Sullivan, MO (exit 225 off I44).

Just over 500 miles for the day, and about where I had originally planned on being tomorrow night. Could be a lot of sight seeing for the next 3 days to get to MD.

Oh, and it's 68 degrees, and I think I here crickets chirping.:clap2:

More to come, Scooter Bob

It pretty much fell apart, 2 miles of rain around Springfield, 2 miles around St Looey, and 2 more right about the time I quit.:confused24:

But thanks for the tough guy compliment.:thumbsup2:

Good seein' you again to Don! I had a nice visit, and ride.:sign kewl:

Oh, We remembered to take pics of the mid IL M&E this year.

I did it again.

But when yer in a hurry to get South to better weather, sometime the best route just kinda ends up being the one you did once before.

:bighug:, Scooter Bob

PS, for everyone else following, that is :scratchchin:, we stayed here the first night out on our way to the International Rally 20 months ago.

I definitely remember that campground !!! :bighug::225:

Missing you already and freezing up here in Wisconsin. The dogs are in deep depression too. No baby yet either. Be safe and remember my tumbleweed.

Me too, ya think the firewood is still wet, too?:confused24:

The dogs are in deep depression too.

Think of the money we save on dog food when I'm gone.:mo money:

Be safe and remember my tumbleweed.

I will.:173:

Just got out before the sh*t hit fan with the weather.

Ya, and St Louis weather says the temps will be dropping and they might get white stuff over night tonight.:snow:

Better head farther South today.:Venture:

Actually, I'm going to head to Springfield this morning and stop in at the Grizzly Tool store and check out a couple things I've been thinking about for the garage/shop.:confused24:

Then I may head south to Arkansas for a bit and then head towards Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA. I've got plenty of time, so I think I need to miss all those toll roads in OK. :no-no-no:

 Fuel tax should be enough to cover any damages my bike does to the roads.:sign back to topic:

Guess what honey, I'll be leaving early because I can't sleep. Imagine that.:scratchchin:

Who was that old fart you took a picture of in IL? Can't be me, I am a young buck! :backinmyday:

Weather is going to suck here in Peoriaville for the rest of this week so I am really glad to get the ride in with you yesterday.

I have been wanting to do a ride like you are on for....well, many many years. maybe this summer I will get to it. Since officially retiring, the wife has been making noises like maybe I should do that trip sooner rather than later so she can get HER work done! :whistling:

Keep us updated on your trip, we can all live large vicariously! (hows that for my word for the day!).:confused07:

Right On DynoDon, :thumbsup2: AGAIN! :You_Rock_Emoticon:

Got on hiway 10 in Jay, OK and ran it to Tahlequah.

Great ride along the river, and nothing for traffic.:sign kewl:

That's where I'm at for the night.

Did my shopping this morning, then took a MO13 south into Arkansas, then headed west on 62 through Eureka Springs and beyond, then followed 72(mostly) over into OK.

All that worry about putting flat wear down the center after 650 miles of super slab has gone away. I'm sure the sidewalls have caught back up now.:scratchchin:

A 400 mile day, but very enjoyable scenery.:cool10:

I have a crappy WIFI again, so I'll be posting pics from my phone to the site, and then coming back to the computer just to edit and add smilies.:confused24:

You are soooo lucky that I'm not sending you scenic pictures from Wisconsin. We have been having some wonderful weather here in Wisconsin, including an ice storm up here that caused four power outages today. It has rained:rain2:, snowed:snow2:, sleeted, thundered, and then I really can't describe what it has been doing all day, not to mention the wind too. Honey, you OWE me big:buttkick:. Somehow, I'm not seeing the winter wonderland in those pictures of Beaver Dam and Oak Grove dear. :cold::snow:

What were you thinking leaving me up here in this stuff while you walk arount in T-shirts and enjoy the sun? How dare you (just kidding) apply sunscreen and enjoy warm weather while I am applying long underwear and keeping my feet warm on the heat register. I thought that we had an understanding about where and how I warmed my feet :scorched:. I miss you and will talk to you later. Karen

I know how you feel, I had to turn on the heater in the room twice.

It got down to 37 last night.:cold:

It's only 37 now, but it looks like :sun:all day, and I'll be headin' South all day.

Going to not smoke marijawanna in Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA right away this morning, and then probably head back to the east side of OK and check out the mountains on the atlas.

Then go take a picture and send it to my mother from Broken Bow, OK (that was her CB handle when I was a kid).

I plan to end up somewhere in NE TX tonight.

You should have, that new jacket would have laughed at that teeny bit of rain I hit after you headed home.:stickpoke:

I'm not sure if the kids here still respect the College Dean, :confused24:

But one guy had enough respect for a wayward biker from WI to take this pic for me.:thumbsup2:

Oh, I'm still in style here with my leather boots!:thumbsup2:
