1982vette Posted March 13, 2011 #1 Posted March 13, 2011 Rebuilt the water pump on my 89 Venture over the weekend. Everything went well until I started the bike. Now I have a steady stream of water while the motorcycle is running. The water is exiting the weep hole. There is only one seal inside the pump. Any ideas on what I did wrong?
dingy Posted March 14, 2011 #2 Posted March 14, 2011 There are really two seals. One is a ceramic face seal, that is on the water side. Behind it there is an oil seal, then the bearing. Did you put both of the cir-clips back on. There is one on each side of the plastic gear on the drive side of the pump. The inner one holds the ceramic seal against its face and the other holds the gear on the shaft. Gary
