ArcsSparks Posted March 12, 2011 #26 Posted March 12, 2011 I can't post my true feelings for those worthless people. But the followers of that church will one day be drinking the kool-aid. and they'll be dancing with the devil
painterman67 Posted March 12, 2011 Author #27 Posted March 12, 2011 Folks....let's please be very careful. I understand the anger and frustration that many folks feel about this but even the hint of the avocation of violence can put you and us in a bad position. I deleted one post and edited another that referred to it. I understand the sentiment but please be careful about what you suggest. Sorry Dom' Guess I should have given my original post a little more thought. I never meant to start a hate thread for the WBC.. In fact after I've calmed down I've come to the realization that I feel a large amount of hate but mostly pity for this group. A large family that is missguided by one individual. And hate goes against everything my southern baptist upbringing has tought me, Lets ease up peaple. AS I am now agreeing with Don. Again humblest apologies. David
Iowa Guy Posted March 12, 2011 #28 Posted March 12, 2011 Ya know, by the WBC logic the entire country of Japan must be in the midst of a major condemnation by God. In truth, I don't know what the Japanese thoughts are toward humanity's sexual orientation. I know they need our prayers. And btw, so do the members of the WBC. So...Please God, bless Japan and the WBC. Iowa Guy
Freebird Posted March 12, 2011 #29 Posted March 12, 2011 You are a good person and I know that you are right....it sure is hard to do though isn't it?
saddlebum Posted March 12, 2011 #30 Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) Just a point of curiosity but what is there to stop the PGR members as individuals outside the PGR mandate and anyone else for that matter to stage their own protest with their own signs in contridiction to the WBC. or simply quietly show up creating a mass human traffic jamb blocking the WBC from getting anywhere within earshot of the funeral... Another question, I know the WBC has the right to freedom of speech. But is it not also held true that an individuals freedom do not include interfering with anothers freedom such as the right to privacy. And is not what they are doing classified as hate mongering which I always thought was an illegal act. Edited March 12, 2011 by saddlebum
jointventure Posted May 17, 2011 #31 Posted May 17, 2011 I was just thinking, (something I'm told I shouldn't do), the reason the WBC gets so much press at these protests is that they actually make it there, get set up, and have an audience. What if they never make it to the funeral service in time to cause any harm. No, I don't mean anything violent. But, if the hundreds of "counter protestors" would, lets say have "car trouble" on the route that the WBC just happens to be taking? The funeral procession could take an unaffected route. They can't sue anyone for any bodily harm, or violation of their 1st amendment rights or for non protection under the 14th. It's snowing in PA, cars get stuck, have bad batteries, delays happen all the time around here. Just thinking that this would have such a positive outcome for the family to not have these jerks at the service. Even with a police escort, I don't think the PA State Troopers or the towing companies would be in any hurry to clear traffic. I am just as frustrated as the rest of you. I know this is an old post, but I had to dig it up. This approach seemed to work in Mississippi and no family members had to deal with Westboro protestors, and no money out of the municipality's pockets. Check it out. http://nation.foxnews.com/culture/2011/04/21/mississippi-shows-how-you-handle-westboro-freaks Was it "right" to prevent them from making it to the funeral?? I don't care, but that is just me.
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2011 #32 Posted May 17, 2011 Yah!! I'm a born again Bible believing Christian and I think that church is WACKO!!!!!
CrazyHorse Posted May 18, 2011 #33 Posted May 18, 2011 this just made me sick. Its probably a good thing Im not there as I may be tempted to send him to meet god and see if hes wright. Now the westboro church is going to protest a funeral of 7 kids that died in a house fire as they are syaing its the wrath of god because they live in the same state that the initial lawsuit against the westboro church was taken out.Any patriot guard riders near by. And Don if this is too inflamitory or political please remove this thread. Not meaning to start anything I just had to vent http://www.fox43.com/news/wpmt-westboro-protest-perry-fire-funeral,0,5116994.story David Heck they dont show up at least half the time probably more.
