It's the opening day of deer season. Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 setting out front. I got my Rocky gortex boots, hot coffee in thermos,.223 WSM just begging for a round. Now if I can get those deer to cooperate. It's 5:00 am and I got potatoes and eggs on cooking. A country boy can survive. More later.

No luck today but I did see some deer. The buck just didn't give me the shot I wanted. A day in the woods is better then riding a second gen.:rotf::rotf::rotf:

Just waiting on my son to get out of the shower and we are heading out to whack herbivores. I look forward to writing the note explaining to his teacher that he was late to school because he was gutting out his first deer.

You guys are making me sick!!! (with envy that is)

I haven't hunted for probably 10 yrs now. Got rid of my rifle about 6 yrs ago. Guess life kinda got in the way of living.

No shooter bucks for me this year. I did take a yearling button as a landowner. This year a landowner could take a buck or doe on private land. Next week starts the public or private land antler less season. I won't get to hunt anymore until the muzzle loader season starts. Blown smoke at them is lots of fun.
