Daddy got a toy... mommy needs one too..... I'm not helping, am I??:080402gudl_prv:

:rotf: nope not helping one bit....... :whistling: We may check one out when they hit the lots here. Id like to see how they compare to the ride and power we have in the taurus. This taurus is a fantastic vehicle. It would take a lot to impress me after owning it.

The new 200 gets the new pentastar v6 283 hp. Should be a cool ride.

Our taurus is 263 hp and 249 lb ft torque backed with the 6 speed auto with the shiftable paddle shifters on the steering wheel makes for a really fast sedan. This thing will auto shift at near 7K rpm's and gets gone fast. I whipped a mid 90's 5.0 mustang 5 speed, poor guy had the soot flying out the rear, but the old grocery getter walked off with ease. :whistling:

Remember the rule about never buy a first year model car, it has all the bugs, whereas the Taurus has been around long enough to have those worked out. Plus the Chrysler 200 will be the first model since they got bailed out which means no track record. Chrysler cars before the bail out was rated the lowest of any brand. They couldn't give them away.

Just trying to help you :thumbsup2:

I was never a Ford fan.....but when I saw the 2010 Tarus I was impressed.

I always thought that Ford must have a designer that was suck in the sixties cause they were just frugly and more. But the the latest Tarus is really a looker. Very cool.:banana:

Tell momma she will have to wait for better gas prices or what ever you can come up with. :crying:

Now if you were noticing what was coming out the back of the mustang, does that not mean that you were BEHIND him????

Just askin......

I have an F150 and a new Fusion and a Dodge Pick up. They can keep the Dodge. Its just cheap all the way around. Won't be buying a Chrysler again. We burned out 4 Gmc's at work in about 12 years and they all wound up in the shop with less than 50k on the speedos and then ever 30k after that. Something always breaking on a GM truck for some reason. I'll be sticking with Ford for a while. But like its been said that's "my experience".

I think a lot of those ratings were un-deserved. I have 2009 Chrysler Sebring and a 2009 Jeep Liberty. Neither one has been back to the dealer for anything except scheduled maintenance. If I were to have listened to all the ratings, they should both be in the scrap heap already! As for first year models. That's been 50/50 the first was a 1984 Daytona Turbo Z that had the trans self destruct on I-75 @ 90mph with only 1350 miles, got it fixed and never had another problem with it. The 2nd was a 1st year 1994 Ram 2500 4x4 , nothing ever broke unless I wore it out or broke it, until I sold it with 275,000 miles and 8 years.

Cause I let him get ahead, then went passed, then let him get ahead, went past again............just playing with it. But in the mustangs defense it could have been the driver :confused24: however we had NO problem running past him time and time again till he finally let off and gave up. Also spanked a Charger with ease. Prior to the Taurus we had a 2010 Fusion sport with same driveline. It was ruthless on hp and torque as well.

Here was our 2010 Fusion Sport

Here is a stock photo of our Taurus. I have not had an opportunity to take good photos of it yet

Here is the Chrysler 200 she likes. I agree that first year model is a no-no. Time will tell. My opinion of Chryslers in the past (I worked for them for 6 years) has not been good. A test drive will tell the tail.

The thing I dislike bout dodge/chrysler is they use cheaper grade plastic. The dashes crack, the headlights turn yellow, etc. Maybe the've gotten better, who knows.

Do yourself a favor keep the Ford. Chrysler products are cheaply made, and look at the news report catching assembly line workers drinking and doing drugs...geez.

I drive a Hemi Durango. I worked for Chrysler. Trust me I have a good understanding of how cheap they are. When the durango gets gone it WILL be my last dodge truck. I am tired of pouring money into this thing. The Durango was one of them deals I fell into and have regretted it ever since.

I drive a chrysler so I hate ford and gm.I drive a gm so I hate ford and chrysler.I drive a ford so I hate gm and chrysler.Sounds to me like you need to keep your ford because only thing I read here is opinions of their favorite brand of vehicle.I bought a new PT Cruiser in 2000,the second one delivered in the state of NC when they first came out.10 years later the PT is still running great and never a problem and I know thousands of PT owners from our PT CRuiser club that will say the same thing. So it all goes back to personal preference.I always have and always will drive a MOPAR.And as for the cheaply made chrysler products, everytime I go look at one for sale you wont believe how proud they are over the sale price.Where can I find one of these cheap pieces of crap at a cheap price?Still looking. "Go Ford"

Just to clear it up. My "opinion" is based on 20 years as a professional auto technician and "personal" experience with owning about everything under the sun. At one time I had a ram truck, kia minivan, kia sportage, ford escort, and a firebird at the same time. So what I speak is personal as well as experience and is unbiased due to the fact that I try to own what serves me the best. That being said I cannot wait to get rid of my Durango, I love my Taurus, still have the sportage, and the escort, and a Tundra is looking better and better all the time. :whistling:

:stirthepot:Well....if ya really wanna shake things up "buy an American vehicle". I was looking at the latest Car and Drive and they have a listing of % of each vehicle which is made in the US/Canada. Per Uncle Sam, it has to be 70+% to be "Made in America". Using the gov's standards, Car and Driver show that the Ford 150, Chevy Siverado and Dodge 1500 are NOT "Made in the US', while the Toyota Tundra and Honda Accord are...just sayin':stirthepot:

Me and the wife test drove a 200 last week, The car seemed underpowered. We have a 98 sebring conv with the 2.5 V6 and it has more get up and go then the 200 did. The 200 did have some nice accessories that the wife loved. Overall it was a nice car, but I would wait a yesr or two before getting one.

I had a 2009 Chrysler 300, great car. Now I have a 2010 Challenger RT, even better. No problems with either car. I can't take my Hemi Orange Challenger RT anywhere without getting asked about it. There does seem to be a problem with the back tires on my Challenger, they smoke when I step on the gas.

Must have been one with the 2.4 4cyl. Try one with the v6. There may be a difference between 173hp I4 and 283hp v6
