Then I ran across a new OEM ignition switch on Ebay. 4XY-82501-11. At least that's what the bag says.. I don't know if it will work on a '99, but for $36 bucks total to the door, what the heck. The key is certainly cool looking... I'll just toss it into one of the saddle bags and hope I never have to install it...

hillrider Posted June 9, 2011 #28 Posted June 9, 2011 With a 7 year old bike at 50,000 miles, I figure an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. And I'm not sure I could handle that kind of pound on the road. Just did Rick's switch bypass. And put a spare relay in the saddle bags. By the way, the new relays are rated at 40 amps.
