Aimhigh Posted March 4, 2011 #1 Posted March 4, 2011 Going to be at Branson for 4-5 days for a reunion with some old military friends. We are going to ride the bike up that way...my question, what are some good rides around that area? I know it is a beautiful area...just want to make sure we make good use of our time.

Anywhere is a great ride. Just stay off the main highways and you can't go wrong. Slip down into Arkansas a little also
OB-1 Posted March 4, 2011 #3 Posted March 4, 2011 Arkansas Hwy 7 from Russellville to Harrison is terrific ride. As previously stated, almost any road around Branson is a good ride. Traffic in Branson sucks; too many vehicles on too little of roads, but outside of town is great.
okiestar Posted March 4, 2011 #4 Posted March 4, 2011 Ditto ditto. Branson was our first out of town ride after purchasing our bike last year. Had a blast but STAY OFF THE MAIN DRAG!!
Tom Posted March 4, 2011 #5 Posted March 4, 2011 Look up Colesgrandpa...Super nice guy and lives just south of there in Arkansas..He knows that area well!
midnightventure Posted March 5, 2011 #6 Posted March 5, 2011 If you ride the main drag when its busy your clutch hand will be wore out. Ride over to Hwy 125 and go south . At the Ar border the hwy runs into a lake and there is a free ferry. Work your way over to Harrison and then come back North on 65. Any of the Ar hwys coming north from I40 in the middle to the west part of the state are great rides. Hwy 125 north to I44 isn't a bad ride either. Hwy 125 south is considered Missouri's Tail of the Dragon. It passes through a wilderness area where you wont see many houses or traffic. The road is very curvy and the last time I rode it was in pretty good shape. Getting over to 125 is a pretty ride to.
