What number do I have to give them to match the paint number? I live in Manitoba, Canada. Does anyone in Canada know where you can buy the paint? Since my 89 was two tone I ended up using these two colour codes which are so close you have to park another 89 beside it to actually see the difference the. The 1st one was for a Saab colour Merlot 284-5 and the second was a Mazda colour Valancia B1-3 both were metalic pearl. On the original post you can take a piece of plastic to your local auto paint supplier and have them match it using a spectrograph. Over time the original color will have faded a bit and using the OEM replacement cplor will not match. Now if you plan on doing the entire bike, then the above looks great. friesman Posted March 4, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 4, 2011 When I had my trunk and bags painted I just took a piece of plastic that has a good finish still left on it to an automotive paint supplier and asked them to match it. They did a good job. THe paint codes are listed here somewhere, but most of the better paint suppliers can probably get a better match with the new equipment they have to do the colour match. Just the trunk and side bags on my bike were painted and you cant tell what is new and what is OEM (except that the new is shinier when the bike isnt exactly clean...)
