It's a harley, its supposed to vibrate

I not knocking harleys but just had to tell you all this story. A friend on mine bought an 07 street glide. He paid $400 for a sprocket that harley says will eliminate the vibration. After installing the sprocket the vibration moved to a higher rpm instead of going away completely. My friend went back to the local harley dealer and told the service manager he wasn't going to pay $400 for something that doesn't work. The service manager said lets go back in the shop and talk to one of the technicians. When my friend explained his problem to the certified harley technician the technician replied, "It's a damn harley it's supposed to vibrate." My friend is very upset.

A friend of mine rides an '02 Road Glide and he says that

Harleys DON'T VIBRATE.......................They Shake!

As far as I"m concerened, real motorcyles doooo ---------vibrate.

 

Add on-My son once asked me why the fronot wheel shook-I said, because it is a machine.

I got 2 brothers who ride Hardly Davidsons.

They get off them and onto my 2nd Gen, and invariably say, "Gee, it's smooth!"

If you own a Harley.......always before every trip, stop by the local hardware store and buy a new tube of lock-tite. One of those battery powered drills and some stainless bolts and ny-loc nuts are a good investment too!! As for the mirrors, just weld them on!!:rotfl:

Also have a hitch installed on the back and put a trailer on the back that has a heavy duty magnet on the underside so that you will never have to buy another replacement part again....Just kidding were helping the father in law go and get his Hertiage next week....we have tired to get him into a Venture but no go. first new bike that he will ever own...

Your friend should start by asking himself why he bought an Isolated Drive Sprocket that is intended to make the shifting smoother and not designed to do anything about engine vibration. Lists for $305, but can be bought for 20% less than that on-line. And, if he was lucky enough to have a "elbow-Grease" coupon he could have had it installed free of charge a month or two ago.

The front wheel shakes to let you know the bike will fall apart a few thousand miles down the road. :rotf:

If you ride a Wing, Venture,etc., folks always assume you've never experienced Harleys.

I've had a few over the decades & am now at an age where I like to hear more than my engine.

I also enjoy talking to fellow riders on the CB....sharing the trip makes it twice as good. Smooth with CLASS is nice for old bones.
