Condor Posted February 25, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2011 Picked up a set of covers off Ebay that weren't in the greatest shape. Had the chrome stripped off and professionally polished for $50 bucks, so I'm in them right around $150 total. Lot better price that buying a new set. Whacha think? Snaggletooth Posted February 25, 2011 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2011 Looks pretty good Jack. I'm not real familiar with the 2nd gens but that's about a 1/3rd of new cost isn't it? Nutting wrong with that. Mike

Nutting wrong with that. Mike I didn't find them listed on the Y site, but I think the MSRP retail was $459. So, yeah about a third of new. But.... probably half that of a discounter. I don't know why they chromed them in the first place. Polished aluminum looks just as good and is easier to maintain.

Seaking Posted February 26, 2011 Share #11 Posted February 26, 2011 "Required" K&N filters with the chrome covers? how so? I'm guessing the filters are then now exposed or is it just 'the thing' to do? Looks great!! Polished looks better than chromed..
