One problem with having lawmakers is that they think they need to be writing more and more laws.

Haven't read anything yet on how the Fed's and states are going to get road and sales tax on all the electric cars coming out? Talking a tremendous amount of dollars.

The simple little problem with taxing the people to alter behavior:

 

Gas tax

After all the people are driving electric or gas sipping cars and the gasoline tax collection dwindles to nothing. Do you think they can simply reduce the budget? I don't think so . . .

 

Sin tax

After all the people quit smoking, where will the gov't get the tax dollars that they have been collecting on cigarettes, etc? Do you think they can simply reduce the budget? I don't think so . . .

 

Speeding

After all vehicles are closely monitored or limited electronically to the speed limit, where will local gov't get revenue? Do you think they can simply reduce the budget? I don't think so . . .

Funny thing about cleaner air from all of the electric vehicles is.... We're gonna have to burn more coal to meet the increased electricity demand. If anyone thinks Nuclear, Hydro, Wind and Solar will be able to keep up, they are mistaken.

 

Electric vehicles are a moot point. They're just the newest fad.
