Snaggletooth Posted February 20, 2011 #2 Posted February 20, 2011 But......about the most expensive demo derby I have ever seen. Da kid done himself proud though. Good race.
flb_78 Posted February 20, 2011 #3 Posted February 20, 2011 Dang, didn't the race start at noon? 5.5hrs?
CaptainJoe Posted February 20, 2011 Author #4 Posted February 20, 2011 1 pm EST... Demolition durby ... definately! What do you expect to happen when your drafting for 500 miles at 200mph? They may be on to something here...
Scooter Bob Posted February 20, 2011 #5 Posted February 20, 2011 Trevor Bayne 20 yr old I hope he doesn't end up in for underage:beer: drinkin' after they spray Champagne all over him.
Yammer Dan Posted February 20, 2011 #6 Posted February 20, 2011 I see another Jeff Gorden starting there. Hope they don't have to raise roof on car to get his head in there.
Drreb Posted February 21, 2011 #7 Posted February 21, 2011 Nice to see the Wood Brothers back in victory lane. Great day for Ford 1st and 2nd, take that you GM and Chrysler and yuck Toyota people. Who the heck let Toyota into the show anyway.
mini-muffin Posted February 21, 2011 #8 Posted February 21, 2011 Seems like a really nice kid and well brought up. He earned respect from the other drivers as well since he raced clean. It was nice to see the Wood bros win again. Maybe the kid can get sponsorship now and race some more. Margaret
Caveman Posted February 21, 2011 #9 Posted February 21, 2011 Great day for Ford 1st and 2nd, take that you GM and Chrysler and yuck Toyota people. Drreb, so ford had one good race, GM will be the winningest car "again" this year. Don't be hate'in bro it's not pretty! I'm just sayin. No really good race!
Lone Eagle Posted February 21, 2011 #10 Posted February 21, 2011 The drafting in this race was CRAZY - I don't recall ever seeing drafting for most part of an entire race like that. The kid did race great all weekend.

Would have been happy to see Mark Martin win it and he drives a GM product. But glad to see Ford doing well again, long overdue.
Mike G in SC Posted February 21, 2011 #12 Posted February 21, 2011 Did you see, when in the winner circle, he dipped down for a second to remove his retainer. The announcers missed it. Braces, turned 20 yesterday and won the 500 cause he knew what he was doing. Nice kid. Wish him luck.
SC89Venture Posted February 21, 2011 #13 Posted February 21, 2011 We came down for the race, had a blast but tired. Sat on 4th turn, had good but very small seats. All went well at the track, the only negative was it took forever to get from the parking lot 7 to the track. We stayed in Jacksonville, took longer to get to the track from the parking area than it took to get from Jacksonville to Daytona Beach. Weather was perfect, man it was crowded.
