GlennTuc Posted February 17, 2011 #1 Posted February 17, 2011 My cousin's 07 RSV keeps blowing the main fuse (30-AMP). Any ideas why it may be doing this? Never had that problem with mine, nor have heard of it before. Thanks in advance Glenn
Bubber Posted February 17, 2011 #2 Posted February 17, 2011 Dead short someplace. Take it back to the stealer let them fix it under warranty.
flb_78 Posted February 17, 2011 #3 Posted February 17, 2011 Does he have driving lights on it? Sometimes the wires to the lights get pinched in the neck. What kind of electrical add ons does he have?
gunkylump Posted February 17, 2011 #4 Posted February 17, 2011 Mine blew once...I traced it back to a bare wire that I did not properly wrap when I installed the LED brake/running light under the trunk on my Venture. Sounds like he has a short going on somewhere...any non factory lighting or accessories added to it? Check the wiring on them if there is... gunk:whistling:
flb_78 Posted February 17, 2011 #5 Posted February 17, 2011 Dead short someplace. Take it back to the stealer let them fix it under warranty. It's not warranty if he installed extra lighting/GPS/SPOT/ or any other number of electrical add ons himself and the wiring is to that is at fault.
dingy Posted February 17, 2011 #6 Posted February 17, 2011 There are not a lot of circuits that only go through the 30 amp fuse and not go through one of the smaller fuses then on a stock RSV. The voltage regulator. The condenser. The feed to the key switch. Which then comes out of the key switch as the Brown/Black and the Brown/Blue wire. Both of these then only feeds the smaller fuses. Wiring diagrams are at link below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42357 Gary
