Guest Dareman Posted November 16, 2007 #1 Posted November 16, 2007 Hello.... I am new to this forum as well a new owner of a 2006 RSV Midnight. Is there a way to adjust the horizontal on the headlight. I adjusted the vertical using the adjustment knob beneath the left side of the fairing My headlight is pointing to the right about 15 degrees. Thanks Al Tomlinson Bisbee, AZ
BuddyRich Posted November 16, 2007 #2 Posted November 16, 2007 Turn the handlebars all the way to the left and look on the right side begind the headlight and you will see a gold looking philips. that's the horz. Its at about the same place as the knob but on the other side.
royalstarjac Posted November 17, 2007 #3 Posted November 17, 2007 I wonder why in the owners manual they say to bring it to the dealer for horizontal adjustment when you can plainly see the adjustment screw. Do they think we're too stupid to be able to adjust our headlights correctly?-Jack:confused24:

I really do worry about taking my bike to anyone, some of these guys if you give them a hammer and two ball bearings, they will lose one ball bearing and break the hammer chasing the other one!! Actually headlight adjustment is quite simple......I do not know how they came up with 17 feet.....but they recommend to be on a flat surface measure out 17 feet and set the headlight while on high beam two inches low to the center of the light circle from center of the bike light. A general rule of thumb is two inches of drop per 10 feet. Horizontal, just center it. I myself cheat and put it dead on on high beam as I ride daylight only, and want that light and modulator seen. It does make a significant difference to put the headlight level or dead on versus what they recommend for overall riding including night time. No one has ever noticed or, complained or threw sticks at me yet,,,,,,,have had them stop the car in front of me and get out and walk back and think I was a police officer!! Kit
