Need some help...08 value

Hey Folks,

 

This is a great sight and I am enjoying it tremendously. I might be one step closer to actually owning my very own venture. I have found a 08 with approx. 12,000 miles. Seems to be well taken care of. I think it still has a year left under warranty. I was wondering what would be a reasonable price for that bike?

I don't want to insult the guy with an offer, but at the same time I don't want to spend any more than necessary.

If it's an '08, it should have about 3-4 years left on the warranty, depending upon the date that it was registered. They come with a 5 year unlimited miles warranty.

 

As for the value, I really am shooting from the hip here but I'm going to say somewhere in the $10,000 - $10,500 range. Somebody will surely correct me if I'm wrong.

 

After doing a bit of looking...I may well be a bit low on that number.

KBB shows it at $10,975. Mileage is about average. Average mileage is about 13200 per KBB. Additional items normally add about 25% or less of their original cost. So a $400. custom seat would add about $100. to the overall value of the bike.

 

My credit union loans 80% or retail so the loan amount available for me would be $8,780.00.

 

KBB trade in is about $8,490.

 

Usually if you can strike a agreement near the loan value or half way between wholesale and retail. So in this case between $8,800. - $9,300. to me would be about right and he should be happy as it is more than he can trade it in for.

 

In my area the banks use KBB for motorcycles, and NADA for cars.

 

Of coarse the value of anything is what someone is willing to pay for it.

Hmmmm, I was gonna say between 9K to 12K depending on condition and aftermarket. Is it a regular RSV or a Midnight (or whatever the '08 extra chrome model was called)?

$11,000 would be the high end for me, and I'd probably expect to get it between $9K - $10K if it was a relatively stock bike.

the mot sensible thing to do would be to check around your zip code and see what like bikes are selling for. Can't use ebay asking, have to see what they are actually selling for.

I'm not sure if it is still there but there was a midnite venture at Indy Harley davidson a week or so ago here in Indiana. They wanted 6900 for it and she looked like a nice bike. It being in a HD store they didn't price it very high to sell it and get it out. If you look arou d a little you will find some used ones out there. Good luck
