ken Posted February 12, 2011 #1 Posted February 12, 2011 Well today I changed my fuel filter. Went with the F10024. Wasn't to bad took about 30 minutes. One think I noticed was how long the fuel pump ran. Before it would "click" for about 10 seconds. With the new filter it only clicked about 2 seconds. Anyhow the chicken thing. After getting the filter changed I started her up to check for leaks. While it's running I hear was sounds like a "chicken cackling" near the front of the engine. I gave her some rpms and the noise went away but came back when the rpm's came back down. I'm wonder If the noise could be the water pump? . Now for to the coolant. Should have time for that, then it's off to work. :depressed:

RandyR Posted February 12, 2011 #3 Posted February 12, 2011 It's balking from the cold weather... If you're running a heavy weight oil that might just be the problem.
BoomerCPO Posted February 12, 2011 #4 Posted February 12, 2011 Check the immediate area around the bike....If you see tiny footprints then you have PYGMIES hiding out on the scoot. Boomer....who sez don't blame me cuz all of mine are accounted for.
Drreb Posted February 13, 2011 #5 Posted February 13, 2011 Well the good news is if it's a chicken you will have fresh eggs soon.

gibvel Posted February 13, 2011 #9 Posted February 13, 2011 And now for a serious post... I think I know that sound you're talking about. Does it go away after it warms up? I think mine sounds a bit like a fan belt rubbing on a pulley but it goes away after it warms up.

Hmmmm, if you have a sound like a fan belt rubbing on a pulley then you may have an old crow lodged in there. Those buggers are worse then pygmies.
