TODAY WAS MY FIRST RIDE ON THE NEW AVONS I WENT TO THE SMALLER FRONT AND ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! YOU GUYS WERE NOT KIDDING THE CHANGE IS AMAZING. SO FOR ANYONE STILL ON OEM TIRES THIS IS THE BEST CHANGE I HAVE MADE YET. THANKS FOR THE INPUT ON MY TIRE PURCHASE. THIS PLACE IS THE GREATEST!

IT FEALS A LITTLE ODD AT FIRST CAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE THAT BIG FOOT PRINT ON THE ROAD. THE FIRST FEW STOPS I HADE TO THROW THE LANDING GEAR :rotf:BUT IT DID NOT TAKE LONG TO GET USE TO. MY 40mph WABBLE IS NEAR GONE PLUS BIKE DOES FEAL LIGHTER IT PRETY MUCH TURNS ITSELF.

So OK

Suggestion as to where to get them?

Don

The MT90 comes out to a 130 sized tire. This is more of a 2nd gen issue, as the 1st gens run an even narrower tire than this already - a 120. And that is what baffles me when I have read elsewhere when some folks get so wrapped up in the "safety issues" of running a narrower tire than Y called for here. Plenty of other bikes are running narrower tires than what we're changing to. There are no "safety issues". Just better handling. I got mine from SWMoto Tires.

If you go to the narrower tire should you remove the leveling links?

Not necessarily. I left mine in and like it. It's just a matter of how much you want to improve the handling.

As for the little wobble you mentioned there ...try tightening your steering head and that may eliminate that problem ...there's a short cut to doing the head too ...have fun ...I also went with the Avon this summer and it's the best thing I ever did thanks to this group here and Tom!!

I just installed the MT90 front tire on my RSTD. WOW! What a difference, best change I have made on this bike. Better handling with no draw backs. Thanks to all who did the R & D work, trying different sizes.
