Tank shot (want to add bib with pockets & chrome cover) ?? NOTE aftermarket tach. **ALSO** Has anyone attempted to change the colors of the backlight on the dash (speedo area). I though if it was blue it would be really nice.

Front end light bar. Can lights be added to this? Does entire bar need replaced to add driving lights??? I do not find adapters of any kind listed anywhere.

I am not digging the rear lights. Will probably get rid of the clears front and rear and go with something different. I like to be seen and these lights hide in daylight.

Looking for thoughts and ideas. This bike has 3100 miles on it so my money can be spent on goodies right now. It is in "need" of nothing. Dealer went ahead and brought it up to 4,000 mile service requirements so I am good for a while.

There is a Harley rear light bracket that looks really nice and helps light up the tail. Someone should have pics (or I could go out into the garage and take a pic - Naaahhh, it -10F out there).

The driving light addition requires a new bar. It will add a pair of PAR32 (35W ea) driving lights.

Bib and Chrome ignition cover - hit Ebay. Saw the cover on there the other day.

Yep ebay I found the bib and cover. I just got done with the exhaust mod and WOW it sounds a ton better. I did the 4 holes at 12 3 6 9 out to 1/2".

Holes roughed in before finishing with the die grinder to smoooth up.

Smoothed up, used a chainsaw file, die grinder, and angle grinder with a polishing wheel to smooth the burrs, wipped with laquar thinner, tapped off, sprayed with ultra high temp black paint. Nice look :) Only mess up is the top hole is more like 11 3/4 then 12 but cannot be seen without getting on your knees....... :whistling:

Take a look at my post, Title: "Inexpensive Rear Lighting" as you may like the way it looks in the rear, "See attached photo". Very inexpensive to get it that way and you WILL be seen from the rear. I, like you, was not happy with just the single rear light and reflectors. Nice bike you have there and you want to keep it nice. I fully understand the need for more lighting in the rear. :cool10: DanC

Don't know if you are aware of it or not, but the chrome ignition cover seems to be a bit larger than the stock one. When you turn the front end to full lock the cover will be contacted and "pushed" a bit to the side. Eventually it will crack.....at least the two that I had did. I eventually went back to the black stock piece. I actually like that look better anyway.

Just want you to be forewarned.

Nice looking bike!!!

I'm not a big fan of the 'chrismas tree' look on the back of a scoot, yet I do realize extra lighting would be beneficial, so I'm going this direction and find a set up to change the rear directionals to running/brake/directionals. The link doesn't list a plug and play for the RSV, but it may not be listed?? If they don't the search begins....

As mentioned before http://www.bikerhiway.com/radiantz-led-tail-light-for-yamaha-road-star-and-vstar-p-176.html is a relativly cheap plug and play way to brighten up the rear. This definately can bee seen in the daylight!!!:lightbulb:

The 32 LED tail light is an improvement, but the 100 LED is even brighter.

Here is a comparison between the two. Note my extra light-bar under the trunk. Easy mounting between the helmet locks, NO extra drilling required. A grand total of ~$15 bucks at the local truck stop plus $1.00 in bolts, nuts and lock-washers.

Which one???

I've tried Love's and Flying J here and neither one carry that light bar.

You may want to check out a trailer dealer that sells lights for trailers. I picked up a LED light bar for around $30 and then a 5 wire to 4 wire adapter so that it had full function. I also picked up some small LED running lights, a pair of amber and a pair of red, and mounted them on the saddlebags between the chrome crash bar on the rear, and hooked up the reds as running, and the ambers as turn signals. OIf course I also did a set of strip lights, LED, on the sides of the bags as running lights as well.

Then again, I have been accused of turning bikes into Christmas trees as well...

I added a chrome ignition cover and then added a Clearview windscreen.. Had to switch back to the stock black because the angle of the Clearview reflected the chrome cover right into the middle of my viewing area in the windshield.

Also lots of people have added tachs, but the bottom line is the engine can safely rev over 7000 rpm, and the stock rev limiter is around 6300, so you can't hurt the engine by reving it, you can't even reach the bike's peak HP which is about 6700 rpms. About the only thing a tach will tell you is you are shifting too soon.

It was a full blown truck stop (facility for maintenance, etc). Thinking about it more carefully, I did say 'local' but with the way I travel it is likely that it was just one of my standard stops that I spotted it and picked it up. I couldn't tell you what 'line' of truck stops it was. Around here (and along I-40) there seem to be quite a few 'love's' truck stops, it may have been one of those. I really do not recall, it was a while ago... Sorry.
