I know from real world experiance that the 2nd Gens have a much too touchy rear brake. Or at least in the two that I have owned. I plan to install the TCB Lifesaver Valve and I'm not sure which level of slip I need. I thinking either the 30-40 green or the 40-50 red. Anyone have one already mounted and can post results?

I know about it but really don't have much to say. I know some of the guys were going to try it but I don't know if they have had any saddle time with it or not.

I am waiting for some test results from he guys before buying and I didn't understand in the beginning that you bought different ones, I thought there was just one with some sort of adjustment on it. Could get a little pricey if you buy three or four of them.

If you get one post the results on here so some of the rest of us know what to do.

I guess not many know about this. Anyway I ordered the green giving the most slip and I'll let ya'll know if I feel it is an imporvement.

If you will scroll through the posts......been a couple days, you will find where I have installed and tested the TCB devices, and also some comments from the distributor of this device. I do not know how to move the link to this part of the forum, computers are still a mystery to me. Kit

Hey Kit. Have you noticed any better reaction out of the system after riding for while and testing for bit. More accustom?

I went for a 300 mile ride this past Sunday. I really do not use the rear brake a whole lot........usually only at a stop light, after coming to a full stop with the front brake and maybe a little rear, I will sit at the light with one foot on the rear brake, in gear.......Yes I like the front brake installation, it gives me the smooth control and confidence to more fully use the front brake.......and I know just how hard I can use it. I am all for the TCB unit on the front brake, it is a great help. It smooths it right out. I have no fear of romping on it if I have to.

I honestly do not notice much difference in the rear system. There is a more smooth control, and I can actually feel the device work on the rear, so I know if and when it will lock,,,,,,,but the plain truth is the Venture is over-braked......has too much pad on the rotor..or maybe too little I am not an engineer, come on Eck which is it too much or too little??....so only a slight pressure will lock it up.....I know for a fact in a real life situation use of the rear brake even with the TCB will lock up the rear brake..prematurely...then one has two choices, if you actually get into a slide and if you release it.....uh oh!! Would be best to just ride it down if you have to and not release it till you have to when you go down. No I honestly cannot tell much difference with the rear brake on this particular braking system on this particular bike. Bottom line is I use the rear brake very, very little, and as we dummies learn things by doing, and doing and doing over again......hopefully if the day ever comes again that I do have to make a hard decision......self training will take over and I will use my brain. Maybe Don will get his installed and let us know......he has another style unit on his bike already, maybe we need to use both of them. Respectfully......Kit
