whats the big dirrerance in running the factory type bias tire vs going with a radial?? i noticed the dun e-3 offers it in both but dont know about the avon.

I haven't seen a radial that will fit the stock RSV rim for the rear! 17 inch I believe. But if you have, please post a link!! I'd be interested the next time I have to change out!!!

I run the 180 Radial on my back and the stock 150 on the front.

I find less chance of chucking tires, now this is on the Metlzers.

I ran two 170's and chunked both, I moved up to a radial 180, and I'm happy with it. plus a tad bit more rubber on the ground while pulling a trailer:biker:

Ok, so nobody caught it !!! The rear of the RSV is 15" NOT 17" rims. I went into the other room and it dawned on me what I said . I ran back in here to see how many caught it but none did. It is 15 inchers!!!

I was sitting here thinking, aren't the back rims smaller than the front, but I hadn't gotten around to checking yet.

I caught it but before I said to much wanted to make sure they even make a radial tire for the RSV..

That is why I copy the link the 15 and not the 17.......:rotf::rotf:

But still not for sure you can run them ok on a RSV....I'll call my stealer and maybe he will answer it with out a fee

I ran an Avon Cobra radial on the front during the time I was trying to get the CT to work since the CT was a radial also. Couldn't ever get the wobble out so after 1500 miles I ditched the rear CT and tried a Continental bias with the front radial. Result: it road good but the Conti didn't last but about 6,000 miles so I went with the E3 on the rear. I got about 15,000 miles before changing it out because of a long trip I was planning to go on. The Cobra got a cut in it at around 20,000 miles so I replaced it with a E3 bias to match the new rear bias E3. I wish I could get a Cobra in a radial for the rear . I'd buy a set front and rear in a heartbeat.

Avon does not make a tire in the RSV size, at least according to their website.

Also, the load rating for the radial in a tire close to the same size was not even close to the non-radial venture tire.

Dunlop E3 non-radial has a higher load rating too than the radials.

For me, I will take the higher load rating any day.

Your right they don't show it on their website but JW and others sell them, also you are right on the load rating too.

Why they don't have them on their website is beyond me...

I have been happy with the E3's but they tend to be alittle noisey so this round I will try the Avon's hey if they don't work I have the E3's to fall back on...

You mean Avon doesn't list a radial in the Royal Star size?

Haven't found any yet, unless a V means Radial. This is the rear tire where the V is 74 (827lb per load) and the H is 80 (992 lb per load). Since I am not riding faster than 130 mph, I will stick with the H (belted).

Doesn't the R mean radial here?
