bj66 Posted February 3, 2011 #1 Posted February 3, 2011 Well today I finally did it. I have been thinking about getting a new bike. I ended up getting a Harley Road Glide. I know, I know, but I really like the fixed fairing and alot of other things on it. So in the long run it is the bike for me. I really like this site, and enjoy chatting with alot of you. I plan on coming back and keeping up with whats going on as well. Needless to say I probly will end up parting ways with my tour deluxe. Its been a good bike, and will make somebody a nice ride. Its really fun reading up on some of the ins and outs of these bikes, and the knowledge and ideas found on this site are incredible. So I plan on chiming on from time to time. As for new pics of the bike, gonna have to wait. It wont be here till the end of march. No biggy for me, Im not riding in a -50 windchill anyway.
etcswjoe Posted February 3, 2011 #2 Posted February 3, 2011 I tried one out in San Diego, just did not stand out for me but still a sweet bike. I guess you will need to get snow tires and chains to ride it.
Venturous Randy Posted February 3, 2011 #3 Posted February 3, 2011 Sorry Bernie, you're stuck with us, kind of like being in the Mafia, you can't leave once you are in. It appears we are going to have to add a Harley section just like we did a Gold Wing section. RandyA
cecdoo Posted February 3, 2011 #4 Posted February 3, 2011 :ice_congrats-vi6886on the new scoot, cant wait to see the pics.
mini-muffin Posted February 3, 2011 #5 Posted February 3, 2011 You've been here long enough to know nobody leaves. Don't make us send the boys to get you either. Enjoy the new bike and don't you dare go anywhere. Margaret
bj66 Posted February 3, 2011 Author #6 Posted February 3, 2011 Sorry Bernie, you're stuck with us, kind of like being in the Mafia, you can't leave once you are in. It appears we are going to have to add a Harley section just like we did a Gold Wing section. RandyA I suppose the Harley Section will have to have directions on where to go to find it, and instructions on how to use it........
Venturous Randy Posted February 3, 2011 #7 Posted February 3, 2011 I suppose the Harley Section will have to have directions on where to go to find it, and instructions on how to use it........ And the instructions will be written very slowly because we know you guys can't read very fast. RandyA
Guest Posted February 3, 2011 #8 Posted February 3, 2011 I suppose the Harley Section will have to have directions on where to go to find it, and instructions on how to use it........ The Harley section will have big black/orange lettering and wallpaper and you would be required to purchase a Harley T-shirt every time you visited it. :rotf:
warriorhoneybee Posted February 3, 2011 #10 Posted February 3, 2011 if you try leaving us you will be swimming with the fishes!!!LOL good luck with new toy.

bj66 Posted February 3, 2011 Author #13 Posted February 3, 2011 I'll still wave, and I bet i'm the guy with the goofy assed grin too!
Yammer Dan Posted February 3, 2011 #14 Posted February 3, 2011 We will still stop and wait on you.... Congrats on new ride. They are best looking best sounding scoot on the road. If they would just run like a 1st Gen....
bj66 Posted February 3, 2011 Author #15 Posted February 3, 2011 Thanks Dan, You guys are always thinking of others. Between the custom Harley section, and the instructions on how to use it, I would be plain lost without you guys. Speaking of lost, its a good thing you guys are gonna wait for me to catch up!
saddlebum Posted February 3, 2011 #16 Posted February 3, 2011 Come on Bernie, you know as well as anyone that VR is syndicated with HOTEL CALIFORNIA what makes you even think you would be able to leave.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted February 3, 2011 #17 Posted February 3, 2011 Road Glide? Which model Honda IS that? As long as you check in to VRchat now and then, we wont send Guido to break your kneecaps...
etcswjoe Posted February 3, 2011 #18 Posted February 3, 2011 We will still stop and wait on you.... Congrats on new ride. They are best looking best sounding scoot on the road. If they would just run like a 1st Gen.... I am starting to get the suspicion that you are a 1st gen fan....
Venturous Randy Posted February 3, 2011 #19 Posted February 3, 2011 I am starting to get the suspicion that you are a 1st gen fan.... Joe, please don't encourage Yammer. Then again, as slow as everything has been, we could use the entertainment. RandyA
elmicko Posted February 3, 2011 #20 Posted February 3, 2011 You've picked up a nice bike and lately we've been getting more Harley-converts here than Venture riders. It takes a while for that shark nose to grow on you, but a frame mounted faring is a great thing. I wish the 2nd Gens wouldn't have gone to a fork mounted faring, but hey we all need something to complain about.
randyg Posted February 3, 2011 #21 Posted February 3, 2011 Bernie, I think you picked a good ride. My older brother has an 08 Road Glide and he just loves his. Before you know, it will be spring, it comes the same time every year. If you ever get to Sioux Falls give me a shout. Enjoy you new ride.
Squidley Posted February 3, 2011 #22 Posted February 3, 2011 Bernie....I have a '79 Shovelhead Electra Glide, they didn't disown me for it. It's whatever fits you man, enjoy the hell out of it and run it till the tires fall off!
Yammer Dan Posted February 4, 2011 #23 Posted February 4, 2011 Bernie....I have a '79 Shovelhead Electra Glide, they didn't disown me for it. Are you sure??
bj66 Posted February 4, 2011 Author #25 Posted February 4, 2011 Hey, Will the mufflers fit a 2nd gen? I imagine they would fit......BUT, I actually told the dealer that I want the stockers. The Barons pipes on my tour deluxe are great sounding, but a tad loud. The stockers should be right in between my stock yammies, and my Barons. Might be a welcome change for awhile...
