Flyinfool Posted February 1, 2011 #1 Posted February 1, 2011 I am thinking of setting up a M&E for somewhere in the Milwaukee area. I have been noticing that there are a few members in this area. I was planing to shoot for sometime in March to give a chance to meet each other just before the riding season starts. I do not have a specific place or date in mind just yet, it may depend on the level of interest as to how much space will be required and when everyone is available. So, watcha think??? I would sure like to match a few more faces to the names.
Scooter Bob Posted February 1, 2011 #3 Posted February 1, 2011 Sounds like a good idea Jeff. I'd be interested, but not long after I have to park the tracked venture, I'm going to jump on the two wheeled one and head to OK, TX, and NM to warm up for a few days. That'll probably be sometime later in March. Early April might get you into a little better chance at decent weather. Just my , for what it's worth,

Would enjoy coming down to see everyone. Bob, Not Early April, that's when I am going to OK, TX, and NM (and AZ, NV, CA, UT, CO, NE, IA, IL) to warm up for a few days. Care to come along? This might give you enough time to get an aux gas tank installed. Doin' the Alice burger to Moon burger comparison run on the way back. RR

But I think I'd hold you up way too much. My butt likes way more breaks than you're used to. But perhaps we could hook up somewhere along the way. Later, Scooter Bob
BOO Posted February 2, 2011 #6 Posted February 2, 2011 Is the snow all melted off the streets in Milwaukee in March? I may have to put the snow tires on to come to this one. BOO

jemorrisonjr Posted February 14, 2011 #9 Posted February 14, 2011 Depending when it is, I have a great place to meet... Good food at a good price and not a dump....
icebrrg3rd Posted February 16, 2011 #10 Posted February 16, 2011 Sounds good. Set a date and I'll check my, er, the wife's schedule to see if I can make it. Just have to wake up the bike, it has been sleeping the winter away in the garage. Gotta get a mirror for it after scraping the last one off. Need a new helmet too. -Andrew
jemorrisonjr Posted February 16, 2011 #11 Posted February 16, 2011 Hows this.... Their food is good and not real costly... http://leesclevelandpub.com/
Flyinfool Posted February 16, 2011 Author #12 Posted February 16, 2011 Looks reasonable. GF and I are going for dinner at a place to check out that is right by Mitchel Field, I have read nothing but good about them. I'll keep you all posted. Andrew, Ya know there are easier ways to get a mirror off than by scraping them off....
Flyinfool Posted February 21, 2011 Author #13 Posted February 21, 2011 OK, I have found a nice place for the M&E. It will be at the Final Approach, 4959 South Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207 (414) 744-7060. Easy freeway access. If you look for it on Google Earth, yes that is an airplane mounted on the roof. Saturday around lunch will be a great time. Now we just need to decide which Saturday would be good for the most of us. I was shooting for some time in March. The 19th might be bad for me, I might have to go to Texas that weekend.
Flyinfool Posted February 22, 2011 Author #15 Posted February 22, 2011 Yup, it is now official, I will be in Fort worth TX on March 18-20. I am open to any other Saturday. What works for you gals & guys?
Scooter Bob Posted February 22, 2011 #16 Posted February 22, 2011 What's in Texas that you'd leave lovely Wisconsin??? Oh wait, warmer weather. That's why I'm leaving for there on March 23, and will be gone for close to two weeks. But that's just me, so don't let me hold up your plans. Later, Scooter Bob
Flyinfool Posted February 22, 2011 Author #17 Posted February 22, 2011 I will be in FW acting as the designated pilot for the Marquette U engineering team. I will be flying their entry into a competition to see who can engineer a radio control airplane to lift the most weight. For safety reasons the teams are allowed to bring in an experienced pilot. They do not want 50 lb airplanes flying around out of control.

Flyinfool Posted February 24, 2011 Author #19 Posted February 24, 2011 Since it does not seem to matter to anyone else, I am picking Saturday March 12 at 1:00 pm for the M&E. That still gives everyone interested 2 weeks to make plans. PLEASE RSVP so that I can let the place know how many of us to expect. Yes everyone can come, they said that they LIKE rowdy groups. I hope to see a bunch of you there.

Flyinfool Posted February 24, 2011 Author #21 Posted February 24, 2011 Thanks I never thought of that. I have added it to the calendar. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php .
Scooter Bob Posted February 24, 2011 #22 Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) I put the two of us down for maybe's. If the weather is warm, both of us will be there. If it's cold, but roads are dry, I'll be there. If the roads are crap, have fun without us. Later, Scooter Bob Edited February 25, 2011 by Scooter Bob
Flyinfool Posted February 25, 2011 Author #23 Posted February 25, 2011 Well I certainly hope you both make it. Even though it is local for me, there is no way I will have the bike back together by then, so we will be caging it.
icebrrg3rd Posted February 25, 2011 #24 Posted February 25, 2011 March 12th is a no-go for me. My son's pinewood derby/daughter's powder puff derby (they're running it together) is from noon til 4. So next time. -Andrew
Flyinfool Posted February 25, 2011 Author #25 Posted February 25, 2011 That's to bad, Since you are so close maybe we will just have to meet for ice cream somewhere one of these days.
