We assume its for a bike but you didnt say...
Mariner Fan Posted February 1, 2011 #4 Posted February 1, 2011 Well, if you are looking to use XM radio then the 665 is good. Freebird just got one so you might ask him what he thinks of it. I have XM radio with the Garmin 550. During the winter I just put the XM radio/Garmin 550 in my truck.
thecount Posted February 1, 2011 #5 Posted February 1, 2011 Bike GPS, would definitely recommend the Zumo 665 with the XM Satelite radio. Since installing this with the Satelite Puck receiver, commercial free radio Classic Vinyl or Classic Rewind tunes has been increadible. FYI The 665 also has a car mount for use in the both vehicle. Issue is that the satelite radio needs the "puck" since ID # for the Sat radio is part of the puck antenna.
Woody Posted February 2, 2011 Author #6 Posted February 2, 2011 where to buy before she changes her mind?
KarlS Posted February 2, 2011 #7 Posted February 2, 2011 QUESTION??? I like planning my trips out on my Microsoft streets and trips and avoid x-ways. On any GPS's are you able to download your route or does the GPS always picks the route? Thanks.
Wizard765 Posted February 2, 2011 #8 Posted February 2, 2011 The newer versions of MS Streets and Trips will export to your GPS. I know it does for the Garmin but I believe you have to have a unit that supports routes. The Zumo will accept a route from S&T
Woody Posted March 9, 2011 Author #9 Posted March 9, 2011 I got it ended up getting the zuno 660, now I got to get it hooked up to the bike.
BoomerCPO Posted March 9, 2011 #10 Posted March 9, 2011 I kin sell ya a few pygmies complete with road maps of de whole USA and Canada. Boomer....who sez all of de above are waterproof as well.
Woody Posted March 10, 2011 Author #11 Posted March 10, 2011 Tks Boomer, should of said something sooner.
JerryT Posted March 10, 2011 #12 Posted March 10, 2011 Bought my 665 last year from www.pcnation.com They had the best price at the time, in stock and delivery was good. As for the 665, overall I am happy with it. I wanted XM and it works well. Also have the weather sub. which gives current weather/radar maps. If you take long trips, this is a great option and tells you when you are about to get wet.
Woody Posted March 10, 2011 Author #13 Posted March 10, 2011 Jerry I paid about 14 dollars more for my 660 than what is on Pcnation, guess I should have shopped more.
Freebird Posted March 10, 2011 #14 Posted March 10, 2011 I've bought my last two Garmins from PCNation and they have always been great to deal with.
Woody Posted March 10, 2011 Author #15 Posted March 10, 2011 I did ask, oh well and I just ordered a BuddyRich cable shoot ain't nothing but money. (glad my wife don't read here)
Freebird Posted March 10, 2011 #16 Posted March 10, 2011 I'm sure you did fine. I don't know that they have the best prices so I didn't say anything, I should have though. Sorry about that. I have actually seen them a few places cheaper but the reviews on those places weren't usually that good. Heck, you only paid $14.00 more...that's not bad.
Woody Posted April 7, 2011 Author #17 Posted April 7, 2011 finally got time to put my buddyrich cable in today works great, (Thanks Buddy) wish we could hook up a vox on it for the intercom. while I was in there I found some wires that had been chewed on, I just taped them up could not find the varmit that did it.
