I'm not saying, I'm just saying.... Terry, Blackjack has busted his arze to keep us together for the past three years... and somebody needs to step up to the plate and and pick up the ball and run with it.... so I'm guess I'll try,,,,,,

Here in Atlanta the riding conditions have sucked for the past few weeks even though I have been riding on a daily basis to get to work and back.

But, this weekend on Saturday it looks like we might have a fairly decent riding day and the Great American Motorcycle show will be in town.

All I'm saying is that this might be a good day and opportunity to get together in a spirit of mutual friendship, comraderie and fellowship to get together for the purpose of a ride opportunity, Viewing the show, a meal together and talking about how we will keep the North Georgia monthly meet and eat together.

I'm willing to provide an after show meeting place at the Atlanta chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 714 near Spaggetti Junction for food, adult libations and entertainment to discuss the future of the North Georgia Venture riders participation in monthly meet and eats.

ALL WITHIN THE SOUND OF MY VOICE ARE WELCOME.

What I'm suggesting is maybe picking a meeting spot for breakfast, going to the show and getting together afterwards for a group social activity to discuss how we might honor Blackjacks efforts by keeping the North Georgia Monthly meet and eats alive.

Speaking for myself, I know that many of the memories and valued friendships that I have realized on this forum have been a direct result of the Terry's selfless commitment to trying to bring us together and I for one would hate to see that end.

Please E-mail, PM, post or call me directly with interest in making this happen.

Love you guys,

Bob,

The Atlanta Dragonslayer

Not adding to the excuses here, but I am in the process of packing all our stuff here in Huntsville to move to Charleston. My bike is already in Charleston..dropped it off last week with a few other things...

We have to be packed and ready to move out next Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest, so I just cant take off to suport this M&E attempt or I would and Blackjack knows I would..

I am really happy to see someone step up to the plate after Terry has worked so hard and long to create the GA monthly M&E event, that never seemed to miss a date even if the weather is bad. They still met up in their cages..

I wish we had more people like Terry on this site to get things going and keep them going.

Thanks for all the efforts and I hope that those in the sound of your voice can and will support you on this.

Bob, Thanks for stirring things up. I have to use the good weather this weekend to get some outdoor work done around the house. I'll get some short rides in, so if anyone is headed up towards Dahlonega, could ride to meet for lunch or something. But i probably won't get out for more than a couple hours.

My suggestion would be to see if one of the georgia riders could volunteer each month to lead a ride. I think 6er usually leads one, RSJack leads one. I'll lead one, and so on. We've pretty much gone out on the 2nd saturday of the month, and I have a recurring calendar item for such. I think that Vogel is on again this year, so that covers August.

SteveW has offered to have a MD again at his garage.

We could start a signup sheet right here for the year.

Man, I hate that I cannot join up with you guys on Saturday, but I'm already committed to the escort on Saturday morning for our WWII MIA Hero who is arriving at Hartsfield at 0715am. The PGR is escorting his remains and family to Cleveland TN, and from there I am heading to Nashville to meet up with some family members.

Hope to meet up with all of you guys soon. Everyone ride safe.

Bob,

Sorry I missed this thread... I think I have misunderstood about the bolding of threads... I now think it means "new since the last time you were here" and not "unread by you". I even looked.

I can do a breakfast and then the show, but then I have to get back here and help my daughter do some work on her truck and I need to do some plumbing on my RV, because I am an idiot and let some of the pipes freeze.

Let me know what you want to do and we will try and make that happen.

OK for any last minute readers or wild hair riders the plan is this.

Anybody interested in getting together for the Great American MC Show (today Sat. 1/29/11 )can meet at the Old Hickory House restaurant on Northlake Parkway near I 285 for lunch at 12:00 noon. We will then ride to view the show after lunch.

Warrior,

No worries... BlackJack has just retired from the M&E organization business since his real business is doing so well. I was talking to Bob (AtlantaDragonSlayer) today at the show and I think we are going to try to get the GA folks to take turns setting them up to keep it going.

On another note, had a very nice time with Bob and Connie today; Lunch and then rode up to the show to look around. The weather was about as good as anyone could ask for January, sunny 60+ and it was all VERY nice until Connie was looking at a beaded pink halter top and Bob allowed that maybe he might get the blue one. Now I have that image to work with! :bang head: :hurts:

Looking forward to meeting more nice folks.

Thom, I'm sorry and I realize that we had just met..... and that, that visual might have been a little too much too soon........I can only say in my defense...... Some people get my sense of humor and many many others do not.

I'm not saying .... I'm just saying...

But i had great time and so did Connie as she gratefully indicated later that night.....

It was also great seeing John and Melinda Gibson (raceman62raceman) at the show.... some more great friends as a result of this forum.

Bob,

To be clear, I did "get" your sense of humor... and was not worried about how long I had known you. In fact, honestly, I am not sure that no matter how long I know you, the thought of you in the little beaded blue number would get any better at all. Just sayin'.

Sunday was so nice too that Nina and I rode down to Warm Springs for lunch. What a nice weekend it was overall. :thumbsup2:
