kenw Posted January 26, 2011 #1 Posted January 26, 2011 My dad died last April, and we just received an facebook message for a Barr D.P. Lare that he ahd a lot of money stashed that could be recovered!!!! Doesnt exist and is a big scam... please beware if you are in this situation!!!

Another scam is the western union one, where someone gets into your FB account and send a message to one of your friends that they are in a jam and need money wired to them. They will usally copy down all your info from FB so they know spouses names, firends and even phone number if you have it on your account.

It usually only takes me asking them if they entered the contest to make them realize the scam but some have gotten mad at me because they really thought they had won something. I worry even more about the ones who don't ask.
