Just thinking. I have a few parts and just want to kind of get a list in my head of what should go where. What would you want??

What I have is:

1. I have a 83 with a new frame. Has good 2nd gear but I think that is on the top of the list. Go ahead and install 86 tranny I have.

FJR or V-Max rear.

I have a air cleaner set-up with 4 seperate air cleaners to get rid of air box. Maybe help with room for Boost system??

83 cams 7 Heads v/s V-Max cams & heads??

Garage to do this in!! (I am getting there!!)

What would you want for dream 1st Gen?? I already have fastest Venture around:whistling:

Got nothing else to do at 3AM.

Not really for performance, but I'm thinking an IPOD interface would be a very good thing. I did a little different MP3 player mod on my 1st Gen and really enjoyed it.

You wanna go fast, buy an FJR or a Busa

:rasberry:

Hey now Muffin beat a busa on his way home from MD the year you all gave him the SS bike. Of course you gotta have the balls for the Busa too.

Just faster than the 2nd Gens and the Hardleys..... but that is kind of slow.

Dan...I'm at an age where if I wanted to go fast I would have a bike for that. I do so much love busting your chops though

You asked some good questions Yammer, even though you are not getting any serious answers. I had also thought about V-Max heads/cams, but with the changes I am hoping to get done with the 2nd gen transmission, I am afraid it would hurt the bottom end torque some with the taller 4th and 5th gears, even with the V-Max rear end I am planning on using. With my setup, 1st gear will be a little lower than stock and the V-Max heads/cams would be nice, but I am afraid it would hurt on the other end. :scratchchin:

its not about how fast you get there, but to get there in Style! :thumbsup2:

1st Gen still wins in Style!!! As of now almost 30 yrs ahead of its time. Nothing has beat its looks yet!!:innocent:

I will admit. 2nd Gens are a good looking bike but don't come close to 1st Gens!!

Ok Pops,

Do you want to go faster?

Or go quicker?

They are not the same.

I like quicker, more acceleration.

Some things you can do to the scoot will help one and hurt the other.

Doing 130mph isn't as fun as it used to be.

I think it's fun to do 9000 r's in 3rd gear and it's more fun with a 2nd gen on your tail ! But have you ever tried to lean into a sweep at 9k , its kinda spooky ! :whistling:

1. Remove gas cap.

2. Drive a second gen under the removed gas cap.

3. Replace gas cap.

Just kidding...from what I know reading this site and talking to some of the first gen riders, it is a great bike...just felt obligated to add a little levity.

OK. A question. The new Glassmat batteries. You can run them on their side?? Maybe standing on their end?? Could gain a couple inches in there if you could turn it over. Maybe even move it to new location??
