ken Posted January 25, 2011 #1 Posted January 25, 2011 Has anyone used the vacume storage bags with the hand held pump for traveling? I'm planning for a June trip and thinking I might try one of this.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted January 25, 2011 #2 Posted January 25, 2011 just used the big ones at home with the house vac..... I was shocked.... it worked great.
Snaggletooth Posted January 25, 2011 #3 Posted January 25, 2011 I had the same idea when they hit the market. Stocked up on bags for packing the small stuff. Then they disappeared from the shelves in my area. Everytime you find something that works.....they quit making it.
mini-muffin Posted January 25, 2011 #4 Posted January 25, 2011 I use the ones you can squeeze down or use a vacuum with. I've been using them for a long time makes packing way easier, you can even take a few extra things with the space you save. Margaret
Cowboy Posted January 25, 2011 #5 Posted January 25, 2011 Planning a camping trip west June 11 thru July 4. Realizing the need for proper bedding to stay warm since the mountains of colorado get cold at night. The wife mentioned trying the vaccum bags, we were snowed in up on the mountain and could not get out, so I thought I would try a trash bag. WOW! I could not belive how small the down comforters & pillows colapsed down. Just put the material in bag and push the air out no vaccum needed. Twisted the top and used a plastic tie, Stayed compressed for two days before I just finally untied. Just a thought if you can't find vaccum bags.
